The Fort Blackmore, Va., native made seven starts in the Truck Series, most recently in 2011 at Kentucky Speedway in October. The rookie has seven previous starts in the series including Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Martinsville (Va.) Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway. “I am really grateful for the opportunity to drive for Red Horse Racing and to be a part of their organization,” said King. “Red Horse Racing has great people on its race team, and I’m really looking forward to competing in the Truck Series. I’m excited to be able to drive for the rookie of the year honors and think this year’s class will be very competitive.”

Red Horse has a keen eye for talent, fielding trucks in the series since 2005.

“John is a very talented race car driver and we are thrilled to bring him on board,” said Managing Partner Tom DeLoach. “John has a great family background and will certainly fit in as part of this Red Horse Racing family.”

The young driver began his racing career in the Fastrak and StormPay.com Sanctioned Crate Late Model Series during the 2006 and 2007 season. In 2009, he was a part of the Bill Elliott Driver Development program competing in UARA-STARS Late Model Series.
