NEWTON, Iowa — October 19, 2011 — Iowa Speedway Foundation is pleased to announce they surpassed the $250,000 fundraising mark! The foundation provides financial support to non-profit organizations across the state. Fan participation in track-sponsored philanthropy events, like the 5th Annual Where the Rubber Meets the Road 8K run, Inaugural Track Walk and 50/50 raffles, helped the foundation reach its fundraising goals.

“We are committed to helping the people and organizations that need it most, and we couldn’t do it without fan support,” says Debb Smith, Director of Iowa Speedway Foundation. “We are proud to be a beacon of hope and make a difference in the lives of deserving Iowans.”

Since its inception in 2007 Iowa Speedway Foundation has raised $261,257. Some of the beneficiaries include American Legion Riders’ Operation: Military Kids, Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Iowa, Make-A-Wish Iowa Chapter, Ronald McDonald House and Teen Challenge of the Midwest.
