Daytona International Speedway: Craig Goess finished 16th at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) in the first race of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event of the 2011 season. Piloting the No. 46 Greenville Toyota of N.C. Tundra, Goess got caught up in an accident on lap 69, causing right front damage to the No. 46. The Eddie Sharp Racing team worked hard to repair the damage for the Tundra to finish the rest of the event. He crossed the finish line in the 16th position, one lap down.Rookie Status: The Greenville, N.C., resident will enter his second event of the 2011 season at Phoenix International Speedway in the No. 46 Greenville Toyota of N.C. Tundra. After the first event of the season at DIS, Goess sits in the 12th position in the driver’s point standings, 14 points behind leader Clay Rogers. He sits fourth place in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings, 11 points behind leader Miguel Paludo.
First Trip to PIR: Goess will compete in his first event at Phoneix International Speedway, and his first one-mile track in the NCWTS. In Goess’ three NCWTS starts, he only competed at tracks larger than 1.5 miles.
Veteran Teammate: Goess will be accompanied by veteran driver Mike Skinner in ESR equipment for the second weekend in a row. Skinner will pilot the No. 45 Cushman / Paytas Homes Toyota Tundra, led by crew chief Jefferson Hodges. Skinner has 11 NCWTS starts at PIR, including two wins.
