McKee has been a vital part of Talladega Superspeedway for more than 25 years. In 2006, he was named Manager of Emergency Services. Before taking his permanent position at TSS, he served as a firefighter/paramedic for the Gadsden Fire Department, retiring in 2005 after 27 years of service.

“Jimmy has been and remains one of our most valuable employees here at Talladega Superspeedway,” said Grand Lynch, Talladega Superspeedway chairman. “The team he leads goes beyond what normal fire and safety people do at most race tracks. They also continue to be an integral part of our guest services program.”

McKee is an Alabama native. He graduated from Gadsden High School and attended Auburn University and Gadsden State Community College. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and wife, Emiie, of 33 years. He also enjoys riding his Harley and getting in a round of golf when he can find the time.

Marshall joined the CMS track operations staff in December 1997 as a mechanic and fabricator. Although he possesses a wide array of skills, he is best known as one of the most talented welders in the area. He uses a specialized technique which incorporates very high temperature and incredible precision. His primary race-day duty is to repair and maintain the integrity of the safer barrier at CMS if damaged by an accident.

“Jeff is one of those rare individuals that combine tremendous skill with an outstanding attitude, said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “Very few of our race-day guests know Jeff Marshall, but he is extremely important to putting on a great show.”

Marshall was born and raised in Fresno, Calif. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for a six-year tour of duty. He spent 10 years as a member of the 144th Fighter Wing of the California Air National Guard before moving to North Carolina where he served in the 145th Airlift Wing of the North Carolina Air National Guard. He retired from the military as a Tech Sergeant.

“Everyone we’ve spoken to says CMS is a much safer track because of Jeff’s craftsmanship,” said Jim Wassell, chief marketing officer for ServiceMaster Clean. “The speedway has been fortunate to have his expertise for 13 years now, and it’s obvious his military background has had a profound influence on the professional manner in which he handles challenges. Jeff Marshall truly embodies the spirit of the Extra Mile Award and we are honored to recognize his efforts.”

Jeff, and his wife Cindy, live in Mt. Pleasant, N.C. where they own the largest herd of kunekune pigs in North America. He has two sons, Eric, a Charlotte Motor Speedway employee, and Jeffrey, who lives in Reno, Nev.

The award recipient can be any member of the track staff that works in a service-oriented position. Track management personnel select the winner. Marshall will receive special awards and recognition this weekend during Saturday’s pre-race ceremonies at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The 11 previous winners have a combined total of 183 years of service.

ServiceMaster Clean is in its second season as the official sponsor of caution periods at the 19 Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI) and International Speedway Corp. (ISC) tracks and Dover International Speedway.

(September 29, 2010) – Kansas Speedway’s Jim Stonequist has been named the 10th recipient of the ServiceMaster Clean “Extra Mile Award” this season.

Stonequist has been a member of the track services team at Kansas Speedway for nine years. He operates the ServiceMaster Clean jet truck each time it travels to other tracks. During race weekends at the 1.5-mile Kansas oval, which opened in 2001, Stonequist is a member of the wall and fence repair team.

“Jim is a dedicated and loyal employee who has gone the extra mile by not only working events at Kansas Speedway, but working events at other ISC facilities on behalf of Kansas Speedway,” said Patrick Warren, president of Kansas Speedway.

The award recipient can be any member of the track staff that works in a service-oriented position. Track management personnel select the winner. Stonequist will receive special awards and recognition during Sunday’s pre-race ceremonies at Kansas Speedway. The previous nine winners have a combined total of 161 years of service.

“Jim exhibits professionalism in everything he does and his expertise is invaluable,” said Jim Wassell, chief marketing officer for ServiceMaster Clean. “And just as important, he represents Kansas Speedway in the same manner when he is serving at other ISC tracks. Jim Stonequist truly embodies the spirit of the Extra Mile Award and we are honored to recognize his efforts.”

ServiceMaster Clean is in its second season as the official sponsor of caution periods at the 19 International Speedway Corp. (ISC) and Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI) tracks and Dover International Speedway.

ServiceMaster Clean Racing

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (August 31, 2010) – Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Carlos Escobar has been named the seventh recipient of the ServiceMaster Clean “Extra Mile Award” this season.

Escobar, an 18-year member of the AMS Operations Department, is a native of El Salvador. He currently resides in McDonough, Ga., with his wife, Ana, and two daughters, Karla and Billie Jean.

“It feels good and it is exciting (to be honored) after working here almost every day for 18 years,” said Escobar.

His day-to-day activities include everything from track maintenance to assisting with track rentals and facility inspections. His responsibilities intensify as the track prepares for a NASCAR race weekend. He works with NASCAR in preparing the 1.54-mile quad oval for the race. He managed the track clean-up crews during the race and serves as the contact for emergency personnel during an event.

“Carlos has been a loyal, hard working employee at Atlanta Motor Speedway for 18 years, said AMS President and General Manager Ed Clark. “He has a tremendous can-do attitude, never complains and simply gets any job asked of him done in a timely and efficient manner. He is a cornerstone of our Operations Department staff.”

During the summer months at AMS, Escobar prepares the infield and garage area for the weekly summer racing series, Thursday Thunder and Friday Night Drags.

“Carlos plays an invaluable role here in Atlanta, and like past award recipients, he takes his job very seriously,” said Jim Wassell, chief marketing officer for ServiceMaster Clean. “He takes pride in what he does and Atlanta Motor Speedway is very fortunate to have him on its team. Carlos Escobar truly embodies the spirit of the Extra Mile Award and we are honored to recognize his efforts.”

The award recipient can be any member of the track staff that works in a service-oriented position. Track management personnel select the winner. Escobar will receive special awards and recognition this weekend during Sunday’s pre-race ceremonies at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

AMS Director of Operations Dennis Shubert says Escobar is certainly deserving of the ServiceMaster honor. “Carlos has been at Atlanta Motor Speedway one month longer than I have been which makes him the longest serving member of our Operations Department. Over the last 18 years, of anybody you could ask to do something and help out, he’s always the most friendly and willing to get the job done.”

“Carlos is always hard working and always has a smile on his face,” said Dennis Mills, AMS landscape supervisor. “He’s just one of these guys that never complains about anything and you just like to be around.”

ServiceMaster Clean is in its second season as the official sponsor of caution periods at the 19 International Speedway Corp. (ISC) and Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI) tracks and Dover International Speedway.

ServiceMaster Clean also performs within a service industry where tasks and efforts are not always recognized, but rely on those behind the scenes to make it happen and keep things running. In homes and businesses across North America, a yellow ServiceMaster Clean van means cleaning and restoration is being done quickly and professionally by America’s number one cleaning team.
