INDIANAPOLIS (Tuesday, May 21, 2013) - INDYCAR, the sanctioning body of the IZOD IndyCar Series, announced today penalties following qualification technical inspection May 18-19 at Indianapolis.
The No. 8 entry of Chip Ganassi Racing driven by Ryan Briscoe has been fined $5,000 for not complying with Rule 14.6.4.16.
14.6.4.16 Rear Wings: The mainplane trailing edge height, as measured from the chassis reference plane is 28.010-28.210 inches.
The No. 15 entry of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driven by Graham Rahal has been fined $10,000 for not complying with Rule 14.1.8.
14.1.8 Technical Specifications General: The following forms of cooling are permitted outside the assigned garage:
A) Cooling towels applied to bodywork;
B) Driver cooling fans; and
C) Brake cooling fans (in assigned pit box only)
