In his first outing for the team, the talented driver from Fort Frances, Ontario kept the Pinewood Sports Camry at the front of the pack throughout the day on the testy 2.5 mile superspeedway and would go on to eventually lead nine circuits of the event, pacing the field on laps 38-41 and 43-47. A late race battle between Arpin and series points leader Parker Kligerman would result in a crash ending the latter’s day and leaving Arpin with the challenge of salvaging the fourth position when the checkered flag waved.

‘I’m excited about what’s going to come in the near future with our new team,’ said the enthusiastic Arpin after the Pocono run. ‘We had a great car today and got a good feel for the direction we are going to be heading as we move on. It took a few laps to get adjusted to the new feel today, but its only going to get better and better each week,’ Arpin pointed out. ‘It was great working with Billy and we really understand each other about the car. I’m all smiles coming out of Pocono and looking forward to our next race together.’

Arpin’s strong run began on the first green flag lap as he raced toward the front picking up a couple of spots on the first lap, then roared into third-place following the race’s first caution period. Arpin used that restart in his debut pairing with Venturini Motorsports to move closer to a possible first career ARCA win for the twenty-five year old Candian racer and he would stay in contention for the win throughout the race as he would eventually find himself holding down the second spot from laps 48-80.

Arpin was posed to again challenge for the top spot with less than 10 laps remaining when the caution flag waved for a car stalled in turn one and bunching up the field for a restart with four laps to go. It was shortly following this restart that Arpin and Kligerman would each have their sights set on leader Justin Loftin as they dueled in the closing laps. The battle between Arpin and Kligerman would come to an end when the two cars touched exiting the final turn with just three laps remaining, ending the day for Kligerman and leaving Arpin with just enough damage to his car to compromise its aerodynamics and put a bittersweet ending on the day.

‘We had an awesome car and it was a pleasure to drive,’ Arpin said as he recapped the closing stages of the race and incident with Kligerman. ‘It’’s a bad deal that we got together with Parker there at the end. He races all of us clean each and every week. I feel horrible for getting into him; we just got a little tight and got his left rear. He had a shot at winning that race and we were still in it to win it as well,’ Arpin added. ‘All of us here at Venturini Motorsports are excited about the new partnership and we are going to win some races this year. It was an awesome first weekend with Venturini Motorsports,’ Arpin concluded.

Arpin would still restart in second following the tangle with Kligerman for a two-lap overtime shootout and Arpin holding on to an extremely tight handling machine, but manage to bring the Pinewood Sports / SpeedShop backed entry home to a career best fourth-place ARCA finish position in the green-white-checkered flag conclusion. Arpin gained ground in the series points battle closing in on a top-five ranking on the tour as he continues to be shown in seventh place of the season-long driver championship.

With eight of the 2009 championship battles remaining on the ARCA RE/MAX Series to decide the title, Arpin will find himself literally on familiar ground in several of the of the tour’s upcoming stops on a barnstorming schedule across America’s heartland. Although the Canadian racing Arpin hasn’t competed on several of the tracks, he’s hoping his strong and successful career on dirt aids his run for the win when the ARCA RE/MAX series returns to action on Sunday afternoon, August 23rd on the one-mile dirt oval at the Illinois State Fairgrounds and annual 100 mile event. For event info click onto http://www.arcaracing.com/tracks_detail.cfm?trackID=229

This season marks Arpin’s first full year of asphalt racing experience after several stellar seasons on dirt in which the young Canadian talent became a dominant force and earned numerous titles while racking up wins in his open wheel modified against the strongest competition in North America while attracting the attention of some of the sports biggest names. Last season Arpin claimed the USAC Silver Crown Rookie of the Year award and prior to moving into auto racing Arpin earned 7 world championships in snowmobile competition as lead pilot for Team Polaris. In Arpin’s new role with Venturini Motorsports associates at Taylor Motorsports, Lo-N-Bro Enterprises and Pinewood Sports & Marine continue to play supporting roles in the team efforts. (July 26, 2009) Steve Arpin announced early this morning that he will be joining forces with Venturini Motorsports for this weekend’s Pennsylvania ARCA 200 at Pocono Speedway. The arrangement will put Arpin in the driver’s seat of the Venturini Motorsports No.25 Toyota Camry that carried Joey Logano to an ARCA RE/MAX Series win earlier in the 2009 season when the tour made its first stop at the famed two and a half mile superspeedway in Pocono, Pennsylvania.

Arpin who continues to be shown in seventh place of the season-long driver championship standings on the ARCA RE/MAX series is excited about the new opportunity and is looking forward to working with the Venturini Team. The pairing of Arpin with Venturini Motorsports has created a stir of enthusiasm in the ARCA garage, particularly within the Venturini camp.

‘All of us at Venturini Motorsports are very excited to have Steve Arpin join our team,’ said Billy Venturini Jr. on the new deal. ‘Steve has shown extreme promise in his efforts this year and is well on his way to getting to victory lane. We feel that Venturini Motorsports is the team that will get him there.’

The former multi-time open-wheel modified champion is ready for the change and has one goal in mind for the future; winning races.

‘We had a good start of the year with ESR and all the guys and we all came a long ways each and every week,’ Said Arpin. ‘It’s hard for me to leave behind a team that I have worked so hard with, but at the same time I am very excited looking forward. This is an incredible opportunity with Venturini Motorsports. They have had incredible success this year with a lot of different drivers and I am looking forward to bringing even more success to the team. Winning races is what I am here to do and I am ready to lay down one heck of a burn out after our first checkered flag.’

Arpin’s team partners Taylor Motorsports, Lo-N-Bro Enterprises and Pinewood Sports & Marine will follow him to his new efforts elsewhere. Arpin has gained much momentum during the 2009 season on the ARCA RE/MAX campaign and is excited about the prospect of scoring another strong finish at the Johnny Benson owned Berlin Speedway.

‘We are excited about heading back to a short track next week at Berlin,’ points out Arpin. ‘I’m pleased with the performance that I have been able to turn in on the superspeedways and intermediate tracks, but those who have followed my career during the past few years understand what I have been able to accomplish in terms of wins on short-tracks, so this could be the week that we pull into the winners circle,’ smiled Arpin. ‘Short tracks have been our strongest suit all year long. We had a good run at Mansfield and with this being our last week with sponsorship here at ESR we are looking for a storybook ending and a trip to Victory Lane. Our team has a lot of momentum going and we are more than capable of winning this race. It’s been an exciting run at ESR and we are a little disappointed that we aren’t able to continue with the crew that has worked together, but we are going to do whatever we can to keep racing and chase after every opportunity available,’ said Arpin emphatically.

Steve Arpin is set to do battle in this weekend’s ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Berlin Speedway located just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The ‘Wolverine Power Systems 200 presented by Generac’ at the half-mile racing facility will be Arpin’s last run for the Eddie Sharp Racing team as Arpin moves on to new opportunities in his young racing career.

The ARCA Racing Network will cover all the on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series from Marne, Michigan. Listen and watch live streaming audio and video of practice, qualifying at ARCAracing.com inside the ARCA Nation. The official web site for Steve Arpin on the internet is www.stevearpin.net. In addition to his ARCA and superspeedway racing talents, Arpin’s racing expertise led the young gun to 7 World Titles in snowmobile competition as a lead driver for Team Polaris. In addition, Arpin is a former multi-time champion in Open Wheel Modified action, while also displaying his winning talent in USAC Silver Crown and late model completion.

(July 14, 2009) Steve Arpin notched another top-ten finish this past weekend during ARCA RE/MAX Series action at Iowa Speedway. Arpin piloted his Pinewood Sports & Marine/Taylor Motorsports Toyota Camry to an eighth place run in the ‘Prairie Meadows 200’ at the Rusty Wallace owned racing oval in Newton, Iowa and is currently ranked in the seventh spot of the season-long championship chase.

One-hundred and thirteen different drivers have competed on the ARCA tour thus far in 2009 and Arpin is just one-hundred fifteen points away from being positioned in the top-five of the title standings. After qualifying eighth for the event, Arpin battled his way up to third place and began to reel in the front two cars prior to a pair of pit stops under separate caution periods. Fighting back through the field after handling issues were resolved, Arpin would battle side-by-side with 9-Time ARCA Series Champion Frank Kimmel for the last two laps to eventually wind up in eighth at the end of the night.

‘Our Pinewood Sports Toyota was very strong all weekend,’ commented Arpin on the Iowa run. ‘ We just really struggled through the middle of the race with one set of tires that just had no grip. I was just along for the ride until the next caution came out and we could get them off. Jefferson (Hodges – crew chief) and the guys did a great job on the car and my spotter Jim did an awesome job keeping us clean,’ Arpin added. ‘I am not at all happy with an 8th place finish, but I do know that we are still heading in the right direction and our cars are getting better each week.’

Arpin and his team are ready for this weekend’s challenge at Kentucky Speedway, where the tour makes its second stop of the 2009 campaign at the mile and a half oval in Sparta, Kentucky. Arpin’s strong run at the lightning fast Kentucky Speedway in May was cut short when he was taken out of contention in a crash not of his own making. The number 20 Toyota Camry out of the Eddie Sharp Racing operation is backed by Pinewood Sports and Marine from Arpin’s hometown of Fort Frances, Ontario with continuing backing from Jonesboro, Arkansas based chassis builder Taylor Motorsports as well as Lo-N-Bro Enterprises and Arpin is anxious to return to Kentucky Speedway.

‘The last time we were at Kentucky it was our first race with Jefferson as our new crew chief,’ Arpin points out. He and I have come along way since then and have really developed a good relationship. I’m confident that we are going back there and are going to be a real threat all weekend long.’

Tune in for Steve Arpin’s ARCA RE/MAX Series run for the winner’s circle this Saturday night (July 18th) LIVE on SPEED TV at 9:30 p.m. (Eastern) in the ‘Click It or Ticket Buckle Up Kentucky 150’ at Kentucky Speedway. (July 7, 2009) Steve Arpin returns to Deer Creek Speedway this Wednesday night as he takes the Pinewood Sports and Marine modified into action as part of the Gopher 50 in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Arpin’s run in the mid-week special that features the World of Outlaws will come in his Taylor Chassis open wheel modified which came close to a win in its first outing last Saturday night. Following the Wednesday night racing Arpin will head to Iowa Speedway for this weekend’s ARCA race at the Rusty Wallace owned facility in Newton, Iowa. Arpin and his Taylor Motorsports team are ready to contend for a first-ever ARCA series win.

‘We’ve gotten ready for Iowa this Saturday night in our ARCA car,’ notes Arpin. ‘Last week’s practice helped us gain on our goals for this week and I’d really like to get our first win at Iowa Speedway, but we are also going to have fun tomorrow night in our modified at Deer Creek in the open wheel portion of the Gopher 50,’ Arpin said. It’s a big show for race fans up here in Minnesota, Wisconsin and across the border. We had a good run going last weekend at Viking Speedway and were good enough to win that one again before the transmission broke,’ Arpin noted on last Saturday nights run. ‘Jeff Taylor had a great car prepared for us and I think I’ve got a good feel of his new Taylor Chassis cars so we hope we can win one for our friends at Pinewood Sports in front of a lot of our fans on Wednesday night. It’ll be a packed house with the World of Outlaws there.’

Arpin is currently ranked in the seventh spot in the season-long ARCA RE/MAX series championship standings and seeks to move up in the championship standings this weekend as Pinewood Sports leads the backing for the Taylor Motorsports entry into Iowa Speedway. With continuing partners Lo-N-Bro Enterprises teaming up to help lead the Eddie Sharp Racing Toyota team, Arpin is hungry for the checkered flag on the legendary touring series. This past weekend Arpin attempted to defend his 2007 title in the Minnesota Modified Nationals at Viking Speedway. After winning his heat race in the Taylor Chassis prepared machine Arpin found himself in the thick of a battle for the win at the midpoint of the event. While running in third place, slicing and dicing for the lead with two other competitors Arpin fell off the pace and was sidelined with transmission problems.

Mark your calendar for Steve Arpin’s next ARCA run for the winner’s circle in the ‘Prairie Meadows 200’ at Iowa Speedway on July 11th at 8:00 p.m. (Central). The ARCA Racing Network will be covering all the on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series from Newton, Iowa. Listen and watch live streaming audio and video of practice, qualifying at ARCAracing.com inside the ARCA Nation. Arpin’s Open Wheel Modified carries a number unique to Arpin’s Canadian roots, the ’00 eh’ with horsepower provided by Tim’s Automotive. Stay in tune with Steve Arpin Racing efforts from this Wednesday night battle in the Gopher 50 from Deer Creek Speedway as the talented Canadian racer takes his Pinewood Motorsports Minnesota Modified Nationals efforts and next weekend’s Iowas Speedway run on the internet at www.steveaprin.net. (June 22, 2009) — Steve Arpin left Saturday night’s ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Mansfield Motorsports Park with a smile on his face and added enthusiasm for the team with a strong fifth place finish in the ‘Tim Richmond Memorial’ event. The top-five run moved the young driver of the Taylor Motorsports / Lo-N-Bro Enterprises Toyota Camry into seventh place in the season-long championship chase on the ARCA RE/MAX tour. Arpin would lead fourteen laps of the event putting the Eddie Sharp Racing entry at the front of the field from lap 70 through 83 en route to the best performance of the season for the team.

‘We had a good car right off the truck today,’ smiled Arpin. ‘ Jefferson (Hodges, crew chief) and the guys just had to do some fine tuning on our Lo-N-Bro Toyota through the night and they made all the right calls. It was a good night for us overall.’

Arpin used his tenacious driving style along with the prior experience that his crew chief, Jefferson Hodges has of the track in central Ohio to produce a solid result. The team now moves their focus to the upcoming July 11th event at Iowa Speedway seeking to move up in the championship standings and set their sights on Arpin’s first career ARCA win.

‘We’re happy with our first top five, but I do feel we had an easy top-three car,’ Arpin noted on the finish in the Tim Richmond Memorial race. ‘We had some issues with some welds breaking on the front of the chassis and I pushed the car a little too hard a little too soon there at the end,’ added the talented driver. ‘We are just getting better each week. I’m looking forward to carrying this momentum into the Iowa test and backing it up at the race. The guys have put together a pretty slick little hot rod for up there!’

(May 19, 2009) When this past weekend’s ARCA RE/MAX Series action rolled into Toledo, Ohio things were looking good for Steve Arpin in the Taylor Motorsports entry from Eddie Sharp Racing. The talented young Canadian racer made a special appearance Friday night at the Toldeo Mud Hens baseball game along with teammate Justin Loftin and legendary fellow racer Frank Kimmel. The cross promotional event by Arpin and his rival ARCA drivers set the stage for the excitement which would take place on the track in Sunday afternoon’s Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway.

When rains washed out Saturday’s qualifying session, the starting lineup was gridded according to owner’s point standings and Arpin would take the green flag from the inside of row six. It didn’t take long for Arpin to race his Toyota Camry up through the field in an attempt to break into the top-five of the running order in the closing laps. Then, with just tens laps remaining the day was cut short with a mechanical problem when the Taylor Motorsports number twenty car lost an axle. Arpin went from running in the sixth position to finishing twenty-first, a disappointment for the entire team, but providing another learning experience as they prepare to move forward to the June 6th ARCA 200 at Pocono Raceway.

Arpin is looking forward to the new challenges that the two and a half mile historic track will provide, with a mixture of high-speed drafting, as well as the unique road course talents that the configuration at Pocono pose for drivers. The team is also proud to announce the unveiling of a brand new, state of the art web site found on the internet at www.stevearpin.net which provides fans and visitors with an encompassing look at all of the racing, marketing and promotional activities involving Steve Arpin Racing.

Mark your calendar for Steve Arpin’s next run for the winner’s circle when SPEED TV airs the ARCA 200 from Pocono Raceway Saturday June 6th at 8:30 p.m. (Eastern).
