(July 8, 2009) – The Dollar General 300 powered by
Coca-Cola at Chicagoland Speedway marks the 18th race of the NASCAR
Nationwide Series season, and the track’s hometown of Joliet, Illinois
is celebrating the circuit’s trip to town with the 9th Annual Joliet
Race Fan Rally on Wednesday.

HYPE Energy Drinks, led by former Formula 1 driver Bertrand Gachot, will
be the primary sponsor of the Germain Racing No. 15 at Chicagoland.

“I’m extremely excited about bringing HYPE Energy Drinks into NASCAR
with Michael Annett and Germain Racing,” said HYPE Energy Drinks CEO and
former Le Mans winner Bertrand Gachot. “I’m confident in Michael and
the No. 15 team, and I’m looking forward to seeing the No. 15 HYPE
Energy Drinks car out on the track at Chicago.”

HYPE Energy Drinks, is also an official sponsor of the Joliet Race Fan
Rally and plans to entertain at the event by giving away free samples of
their three popular energy drink flavors – HYPE Energy Regular with
cranberry and elderberry, HYPE MFP and low-calorie HYPE Energy Enlite.
Samples will be given away from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. Michael Annett,
driver of the No. 15 HYPE Energy Drinks Toyota Camry, will make a special
appearance on-site at the rally from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. to sign autographs.

Along with Annett making laps around Chicagoland Speedway, the rookie will
also try his hand at local go-kart racing. Annett will compete on
Wednesday against fellow Raybestos Rookie of the Year candidates in a
go-karting event hosted by Raybestos at the Addison, Illinois location of
Chicago Indoor Racing. Rookie candidates in both the Sprint Cup and
Nationwide Series will combat in karting races against crew chiefs, brake
specialists, chassis specialists and members of local, regional and
national media.

Returning to a state Annett briefly called home, the former hockey player
lived in the Windy City at the age of 16 to play hockey for Team Illinois
during his junior year of high school where he led the league in penalty
minutes. Annett guided Team Illinois to the 2002 Calgary Mac’s AAA
Hockey Tournament Championship before he joined the USHL’s Waterloo (IA)
Blackhawks for two years before his career in racing began.

The No. 15 HYPE Energy Drinks Toyota Camry will take to the track at
Chicagoland Speedway on Thursday with practice at 2:30 p.m. and again from
6 p.m. until 7:25 p.m. Nationwide Series qualifying starts at 2 p.m. on

“Every week this Dollar General team gives me a great car. The mile and a half program is very strong and we have been in contention to win at Vegas and Lowe’s. I think this weekend will be no different. The over the wall crew has nailed some great stops in recent weeks and we are bringing the same Toyota we had in Charlotte. With the momentum we are carrying from the solid runs at Loudon and Daytona, I feel that we will be battling for the win at the end of the race. It would be fantastic to go to victory lane with all the Dollar General guests that will be here for this weekend’s Dollar General 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.”

Crew Chief, Trent Owens, on this weekend at Chicagoland:

“We have had some really strong races this year with Vickers, especially at the mile and a half tracks. I think we are just knocking on the door of a win with the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota. We are bringing the same car with us that he drove at Lowe’s. That Camry was one of the strongest cars of the race and, had that rain held off, I think we would have had some celebrating to do in victory lane. To get our first win of the season this weekend at Chicagoland would be extra special since it is the Dollar General 300.”

Equipment Information

- The No. 32 Dollar General team will compete with chassis #040 in this weekend’s Dollar General 300.

- This is the same chassis that Braun Racing ran at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May, 2009, where Vickers started 5th and finished 4th in the rain-shortened event.
