Greg Biffle, with a qualifying lap speed of 190.345 mph, captured the NSCS Pure Michigan 400 Coors Light Pole Award at Michigan International Speedway.
This was Biffle's first series pole of the 2011 season, his seventh series career pole and his first series pole at the track in the Irish Hills of Michigan.
Biffle's Roush Fenway Racing teammate, Matt Kenseth, ran a qualifying lap speed of 190.209 mph, which put him on the outside pole, and he will be followed by Ryan Newman (189.573) starting in third, Denny Hamlin (189.294) starting fourth and Mark Martin (189.190) will start from fifth
