Early in the 334-lap event Almirola reported to Crew Chief Greg Erwin that his car was very loose both entering and exiting the turns. He was scored in 23rd on Lap 40.
The No. 43 team executed their first pit stop of the night on Lap 45 when Almirola came down pit road for scheduled service. The team made a wedge adjustment to help improve the car’s handling. The change didn’t seem to help Almirola, but he still maintained the 25th position by Lap 60.
