(Aug. 5, 2011) – After a year of friendly feuding during the BC and Goody’s ‘Pick A Powder’ campaign that launched last summer, Trace Adkins and Richard Petty continue their rivalry by releasing 12 new videos on BC Powder’s and Goody’s Powder’s Facebook pages. Fans of Petty and Adkins and of both brands of fast pain relief products can see the two men interact in various humorous scenarios. The ‘painful moments’ represented in the videos, where the spokesmen boldly tackle one another’s worlds emphasize the effectiveness and need of headache powders to get rid of pain fast.

Starting the first week of August, fans will be able to go to BC Powder’s and Goody’s Powder’s Facebook pages and view the new videos which include Adkins evaluating Petty’s dancing and wardrobe choices, Petty teaching Adkins about resistance training and trying anything and everything to remove a racing helmet from Adkins’ head. The ‘Pick A Powder’ campaign started as a friendly “rivalry” to determine who experiences the toughest pain and plays off the fierce and generational loyalty users have to either Goody’s or BC.

Later in the year, fans will be able to once again support raising funds for Wounded Warrior Project on behalf of BC and Adkins and Victory Junction Camp on behalf of Goody’s and Petty. Last year, BC and Goody’s collectively gave $100,000 to the charities in a check presentation at the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 in Martinsville, Va., and they hope to get the public’s help in raising that much again. Also, participants who “like”, share or download a coupon for their favorite headache powders on Facebook will be able to participate in a sweepstakes that will include an all-expense paid VIP trip for four to the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway (race tickets, air and hotel) courtesy of Goody’s, or an all-expense paid VIP trip for four to a Trace Adkins concert stop (concert tickets, air and hotel) in early 2012 (location TBD) courtesy of BC.

“In working with both men, I can say one of the things Trace and Richard both agree on is that whether it is tough body pain or a droning headache, powders go to work fast and loyalties to each brand run deep,” said Traci Plate, Brand Manager, BC and Goody’s Powders. “That’s why we created the ‘Pick A Powder’ campaign and have taken the ‘painful moments’ to Facebook where many of our loyal users are.”

To view the rivalry’s new “painful moments” videos visit BC Powder and Goody’s Powder on Facebook, To view last year’s videos, visit www.pickapowder.com.

ABOUT GLAXOSMITHKLINE

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare is one of the world’s largest over-the-counter consumer healthcare products companies. Its more than 30 well-known brands include the leading smoking cessation products, Nicorette® and NicoDerm®CQ® as well as many medicine cabinet staples – allii®, Aquafresh®, Sensodyne®, and TUMS® – which are trademarks owned by and/or licensed to GlaxoSmithKline Group of Companies.

ABOUT RICHARD PETTY

Known to many simply as “The King,” Richard Petty is the most decorated driver in the history of NASCAR racing, winning a record number 200 races and seven NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championships in his illustrious career. His place was forever sealed in racing history in May 2010 as Petty was a member of the inaugural class inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Today Petty is as busy as ever overseeing the operation of Richard Petty Motorsports, a multi-car NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team. The legend is also involved with the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Away from the track, Petty and his family strongly believe in giving back to the community. The King was instrumental in the development of the Victory Junction Camp, a special camp for chronically ill children, after donating acres of his land that the camp sits on today.

ABOUT TRACE ADKINS

Trace Adkins is one of Country music’s most versatile and accomplished entertainers. His instantly recognizable baritone has earned 30 charted singles and 15 Top Ten hits gold, platinum, and multi-platinum albums with total sales surpassing 10 million. He is a sought-after television personality, an accomplished actor, a world-class voiceover narrator and commercial spokesman and successful author. Since 2010, he has served as the official face and voice of BC Headache Powder.

Literally an entertainment mega-star (he’s 6′ 6″), Adkin’s stint on The Celebrity Apprentice earned him recognition beyond Country music and his recent supporting role in The Lincoln Lawyer (Lionsgate) has carried that even further.

A member of the Grand Ole Opry, Adkins was raised on Country and Gospel and is known as a traditionalist who speaks his mind and honors the past. Hits such as “Every Light In The House Is On,” “This Ain’t No Thinkin’ Thing,” and “You’re Gonna Miss This,” feature the heart-felt sentiment that Country music is known for. However, as his fans know, his range also extends to the rowdy side. Having played his fair share of honky tonks on his way up, it was obvious from the start that the rowdy barroom anthem, “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” would become an across-the-board phenomenon, while his “All I Ask For Anymore,” is a moving modern masterpiece that earned Grammy nominations for Best Male Country Performance and Best Country Song.

Trace’s rapidly-charting new single, “Just Fishin’” his the first single on his upcoming album, PROUD TO BE HERE, which will be released August 2, 2011 on Show Dog – Universal Music as he continues to criss-cross the U.S. on tour.

Cory C. Collins (ret.) U.S. Army (right) Photo Credit: James Price

Memphis, Tenn. – Sunday at the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia, the friendly rivalry between racing legend and Goody’s spokesman Richard Petty, and country music superstar and BC Powder spokesman Trace Adkins, got serious for two very good causes. Victory Junction, chosen by Petty, and Adkins’ chosen charity, Wounded Warrior Project, each received a donation of $50K from the powder brand they represent. Last year, BC and Goody’s launched their joint Pick A Powder Campaign (www.pickapowder.com) to see which powder is the fastest at getting rid of pain. While the rivalry led by their respective spokesmen remains neck and neck, Sunday’s truce resulted in a total donation of $100,000.

“The Pick A Powder campaign has become much more than a friendly rivalry,” said Traci Plate, brand manager, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, the marketers of Goody’s and BC. “The online community of fans for Goody’s, BC Powder, Trace Adkins, and Richard Petty has rallied together in support of Victory Junction and Wounded Warrior Project in a variety of ways. From the start of the program to the donation at Goody’s Fast Relief 500, we have been inspired by these charities’ missions and are pleased we can help make a financial difference for them to serve those who need them.”

Goody’s and BC’s collective $100,000 donation given at the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 is just one component from the first year of the Pick A Powder campaign. Other elements included:

Fans winning VIP experiences with Petty at Martinsville and Adkins at one of his concerts

Adkins and Wounded Warrior Project were featured on specially-marked boxes of BC, and Petty and Victory Junction on select boxes of Goody’s. With each purchase made earlier this year, fans helped give back to the organization associated with each fast pain relief powder.

Last month, Facebook fans of Goody’s and BC Powders chose a show car paint scheme designed by a wounded veteran representing Wounded Warrior Project, Sgt. Cory C. Collins (ret.) U.S. Army, and Victory Junction camper, 8-year-old Eleanor Bolton, with the assistance of renowned motorsports artist Sam Bass. The designs were showcased on show cars that Bolton and Collins rode in as they circled the Martinsville Speedway track during pre-race ceremonies.

For Victory Junction, the $50,000 donation will fund a family weekend in the fall at the camp, serving up to 32 families.

“We want to thank Goody’s Headache Powder for creating a campaign that has involved so many important aspects of Victory Junction,” said Austin Petty, executive vice president of Victory Junction. “From our campers to our volunteers to the fans and our partners that continue to support our mission, we appreciate your commitment. This campaign not only helped bring continued awareness to what we do each day, but it will help send kids to camp and that’s what is most important. Thank you to Goody’s and everyone that continues to support Victory Junction.”

Richard Petty, NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee and Goody’s life-time spokesman said, “Victory Junction was the dream of my late grandson Adam and always has a special place in my heart and for my family. On behalf of my entire family, I want to thank Goody’s and our fans for all of their support. Although I’ve been in this friendly rivalry with Trace Adkins, I can put our differences aside for a little while as we celebrate the real winners in all of this – the children who attend Victory Junction and the wounded veterans and their families.

For Wounded Warrior Project, the $50,000 donation will help the organization continue its mission of empowering wounded service members and their families by hosting WWP Caregiver Retreats that support the caregivers who sustain the wounded veterans on their path to recovery.

“It’s because of generous donations like this from BC Powder that we’re able to continue this important work and support those who give so much in defense of our country,” said Wounded Warrior Project Chief Development Officer Adam Silva. “Our goal is to provide unique programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members and their families.”

Trace Adkins, BC Powder spokesman and long-time supporter of service members said, “I have great respect for our service men and women, and I knew Wounded Warrior Project would be a perfect fit for the Pick A Powder campaign. On behalf of the military service members I’ve met all over the world, I want to thank my fans for their support that helped BC make this financial contribution. I’ve seen first-hand how much it will help ease wounded warriors as they transition back to civilian life. Although this is part of a rivalry campaign with The King there’s never a rivalry about giving back to children, service members or people in need. That’s something we both agree on.”

ABOUT THE PICK A POWDER CAMPAIGN

The campaign began as a way to play off the fierce and generational loyalty users have to either Goody’s or BC. During the first year of the campaign, both Adkins and Petty have engaged their fans around the country to pick a team to support: Team Richard for Goody’s and Team Trace for BC.

Through a series of spoofs, jabs, challenges and contests, Adkins and Petty have taken on new experiences in each other’s professions. The funny moments, such as watching 6-foot-6 Adkins get in a Richard Petty Motorsport’s race car and hearing Petty sing karaoke, were captured and posted online for fans to enjoy and help determine which of the two men truly suffers from the toughest pain. While they have disagreed on many things, one thing that both Adkins and Petty have always agreed on is giving back to causes near and dear to their hearts.

(March 24, 2011) – Multi-platinum and multi-talented recording artist Trace Adkins will perform the national anthem prior to the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway on April 3.

Adkins is a fervent race fan, who not only is a regular at tracks, but has sponsored cars and actually sponsored a 300-lap Nationwide Series race at Nashville Superspeedway in 2003.

“To have Trace sing the national anthem here is huge for us and for the fans. We have always believed the anthem should be performed in a traditional manner and we know we’ll get that from Trace,” said Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell. “Everybody knows Trace from his music and race fans are even more familiar with him because of his funny radio ads and online videos with Richard Petty for Goody’s and BC Powders.”

Last year, BC and Goody’s launched their Pick A Powder campaign (www.pickapowder.com) that is highlighted by a friendly rivalry between Petty and Adkins to see which powder is the fastest at getting rid of pain. It began as a way to play off the fierce and generational loyalty users have for either Goody’s or BC. Through a series of spoofs, jabs, challenges and contests featured in radio ads, on a dedicated website and Facebook, Adkins and Petty have had fun taking on new experiences in each other’s professions. The funny moments, such as watching 6-foot-6 Adkins get in a Richard Petty Motorsport’s race car and hearing Petty sing karaoke, were captured and posted online for fans to enjoy and help determine which of the two men truly suffers from the most pain.

Adkins is one of country music’s most versatile and accomplished entertainers. His instantly recognizable baritone has earned 30 charted singles and 15 top ten hits, gold, platinum, and multi-platinum albums with total sales surpassing 10 million. He is a sought-after television personality, an accomplished actor, a world-class voiceover narrator and commercial spokesman, and a successful author.

Literally an entertainment mega-star, Adkins’ stint on NBC’s The Apprentice earned him recognition well beyond country music, and his recent supporting role in The Lincoln Lawyer (Lionsgate) has taken that even further.

(March 11, 2011) – For nearly a week beginning March 11, fans of Goody’s and BC Powders can help choose a race car paint scheme designed by wounded hero from Wounded Warrior Project, Cory Collins, and Victory Junction camper, Eleanor Bolton, with the assistance of renowned motorsports artist Sam Bass. The designs will be showcased on a race car during pre-race ceremonies on April 3 at the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia.

As part of the Pick A Powder campaign (www.pickapowder.com), country music superstar Trace Adkins and racing legend Richard Petty have a friendly rivalry to see which pain relief powder – BC or Goody’s – is toughest on pain. One thing the stars do agree on is giving back to causes near to their heart – Wounded Warrior Project for Adkins and Victory Junction for Petty. Goody’s and BC are making both philanthropic organizations a pivotal aspect of the Goody’s Fast Relief 500.

“Connecting with our customers and engaging the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 fans is important to us,” said Traci Plate, brand manager at GlaxoSmithKline, the marketers of Goody’s and BC. “Giving them a voice in selecting this special paint scheme is a meaningful way of involving our fans. Through our efforts with the Pick A Powder campaign and partnership with Trace Adkins and Richard Petty, we are thrilled to highlight both worthy charities leading up to and during the race on April 3.”

Beginning March 11 and concluding March 17 at midnight ET, each day fans can “choose” their favorite paint scheme designs for BC and Goody’s by visiting either Goody’s Powder Facebook page or BC Powder Facebook page. Simply visit the “Pick a Paint Scheme” tab and “choose” your favorite design. The design with the most “likes” from each charity will be wrapped on a full-size race car. In addition, Bolton and Collins will ride in their designed cars as they circle the track during pre-race ceremonies. The winning designs will be unveiled at Martinsville.

On his first tour in Iraq in 2005, Collins was injured 27 days after arriving. While clearing a safe path for his Sergeant Major south of Baghdad, he ran over a 500-pound IED and was the only surviving member of his truck. After trying to mend 30 broken or shattered bones, he kept his leg for five years and recently had it amputated. Amazingly, within 34 days, Collins was walking again with the assistance of a prosthetic leg.

Bolton and her family first attended a family weekend at Victory Junction in February 2010.

In addition to all of this, fans have yet another way to support both charities. Adkins and Wounded Warrior Project are currently featured on specially-marked boxes of BC, and Petty and Victory Junction on select boxes of Goody’s. With each purchase made until March 31 of the BC and Goody’s specially-marked boxes, fans will help to give back to the organization affiliated with each brand.

Adkins and Petty have recorded messages in support of the charities that can be found on www.pickapowder.com. The new packaging showcases the support of two charities personally selected by country music superstar Trace Adkins and racing legend and NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty. For a limited time, you’ll find Trace Adkins and Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) on select boxes of BC, and Richard Petty and Victory Junction on select boxes of Goody’s. With each purchase made between January 1 and March 31 of these specially-marked boxes of BC or Goody’s, fans of Richard Petty and Trace Adkins will be helping to give back to the organization affiliated with each man and each brand.

The release of the new packages of BC Powder and Goody’s Headache Powders is a part of the Pick A Powder campaign (www.pickapowder.com) sponsored by BC and Goody’s in which Adkins and Petty have been competing in a friendly rivalry since the summer of 2010. For the campaign, the two celebrities have gone head-to-head in each other’s “worlds” to see which one of them experiences the most pain and which brand – between BC Powder and Goody’s Headache Powders – has the most loyal users around the country.

“With this charity component of the Pick A Powder campaign, now the loyal fans of BC and Goody’s can team up with Team Trace and Team Richard to help the two charities and benefit wounded service members and chronically ill children across the country,” said Traci Plate, Powders Brand Manager, GlaxoSmithKline. “This is also a great opportunity for fans of the powders as well as fans of Richard and Trace to purchase limited-edition branded items for keepsakes.”

According to Wounded Warrior Project, more than 40,000 of our nation’s armed forces have been physically wounded during the current military conflicts. Hundreds of thousands more are estimated to be recovering from invisible wounds of war, including post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression, and traumatic brain injury.

“This is a wonderful partnership between BC Powder, Trace Adkins, and Wounded Warrior Project, and a great way for consumers to support our injured servicemen and women,” said Adam Silva, Chief Development Officer, Wounded Warrior Project. “Trace Adkins has been a long-time supporter of WWP. Fans of his and ours can now use their purchases to voice their support and make a difference in the lives of our wounded warriors.”

Victory Junction (www.victoryjunction.org) is a year-round facility located in Randleman, NC that is committed to providing children with serious and/or ongoing health issues an opportunity to attend camp and enjoy inspiring and rewarding experiences just like any other child. The organization holds a special place for Richard Petty because it was founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of Richard’s late grandson and former NASCAR driver, Adam Petty, who had the dream to start a camp. Today Adam’s dream lives on in the children who attend Victory Junction as well as the donors and volunteers who help fund and support these life changing experiences.

“It is an honor for our organization to be a part of this campaign in partnership with Goody’s Headache Powder and one of our biggest supporters, my grandfather, Richard Petty,” said Austin Petty, Executive Vice President, Victory Junction. “Victory Junction strives to make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of so many children who need us and now Goody’s users can have that same impact for our children for years to come. Camp supports Team Richard all the way!”

Adkins and Petty have both recorded messages in support of the charities that can be found on the Pick A Powder campaign web site. During the first weekend of April at the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 in Martinsville, their respective charities will be presented with a check from BC and Goody’s to continue their work and missions. (November 6, 2010) - Matt Dylan and his band Most Wanted will tour in conjunction with the 2011 USA Racing Pro Cup Series in select markets, the series announced today.

“We are very excited to work with Matt Dylan to enhance the fan experience at our events next year,” said USA Racing Managing Partner Larry Camp. “While our fans have come to expect the best short track stock car action from our Series, they also want to get more value for their entertainment dollar. In conjunction with Navistar, We will also extend the racing and music experience to bring value to our sponsors through an additional pre-event experiential tour.”

In 2010 Dylan opened for Jamey Johnson plus headlined a concert to reopen North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway. He also performed at Michael Waltrip’s FanFest and the Moonshiners and Revenuers show on ESPN in addition to numerous other club and large venue appearances. Dylan has opened and toured with many artists including Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry, Aaron Tippin, Pat Green, Delbert McClinton and Trace Adkins.

“I’m extremely excited about the 2011 USA Racing Series season,” Dylan said. “Racing fans and country music listeners are much the same audience. When Larry Camp and I began talking about combining the races with concerts it seemed like a way to give both of our core audiences a complete day of entertainment. If you think about it the day will include qualifying, ride-along programs, driver autograph sessions, a concert, racing and several other entertainment components. We are looking forward to getting out and working with USA Racing, meeting their fans, as well as meeting more of our fan base. We have some big surprises in store for the fans that come to the races in 2011.”

Dylan grew up on a large farm in rural North Carolina. His father was a factory worker and his mother worked in a school cafeteria and most evenings and weekends of Dylan’s childhood were spent tending to the farm. Perhaps those blue collar roots have fueled his affection for the grassroots racing series.

“I love the USA Racing brand,” Dylan said. “I see many stars of tomorrow emerging from this series. Look at the range and diversity in drivers, male and female and as young as 14 years old. I sincerely think you will see many of these drivers competing in the truck and Nationwide series within the next couple of years. As a fan of racing, USA Racing is a really exciting series, especially since most of the tracks they compete on are smaller tracks like North Wilkesboro, South Boston, and Rockingham (N.C.). These are great tracks that are in great racing towns! I’m glad to see the series paying tribute to some of the arenas that help make racing famous.”

The USARacing Pro Cup Series, formerly Hooters Pro Cup, is owned by Interstate Investment Group (IIG) and is based in Concord, N.C. For more information on USARacing, visit www.usarprocup.com.

The humorous rivalry videos where they are shown in each other’s world are now appearing online as part of the Pick A Powder Program. The one launching this week shows 6-foot-6 Trace attempting to get into Richard Petty’s No. 43 stock car. Since the campaign started, they have been going back and forth with each other on Facebook and in videos, all in an effort to get the most fans on their team and to show they experience more pain than the other.

BC Powder and Goody’s Headache Powders, the brands Adkins and Petty represent, are going head-to-head in an online contest. The BC and Goody’s “Pick A Powder” campaign plays off the fierce and generational loyalty users have to either Goody’s or BC. Both Adkins and Petty will try to get their fans around the country to pick their team to support: Team Richard for Goody’s and Team Trace for BC on www.pickapowder.com. The man who gets the most fans to join his team will get to see the other “perform” LIVE at the Goody’s 500 in Martinsville, Va. next spring. The campaign will feature a charity component with a donation being made to the Wounded Warrior Project on behalf of Adkins and BC, and Victory Junction Camp for seriously ill children on behalf of Petty and Goody’s.

Through the series of spoofs, jabs, challenges and contests, Adkins and Petty will continue to take on new experiences in each other’s profession throughout the year. The funny moments have been captured on film and are regularly posted on www.pickapowder.com. Fans of either or both men will be brought into the fold to help decide which brand is the favorite among powders users and which one of the two men truly suffers from the toughest pain.

Since June 30th, nearly 30,000 votes have been cast on www.pickapowder.com where fans can vote daily for Team Richard or Team Trace. They are also voting for a chance to win an all expense paid VIP trip for four to The Goody’s 500 at Martinsville Speedway (race tickets, air and hotel) for the Team Richard winner, and an all-expense paid VIP trip for four to a Trace Adkins concert stop (concert tickets, air and hotel) in early 2011 (location TBD) for the Team Trace winner. Winners will be announced in Early October.

Today Petty is as busy as ever mainly overseeing the operation of Richard Petty Motorsports in partnership with the Gillett family. The legend is also involved with the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Away from the track, Petty and his family strongly believe in giving back to the community. The King was instrumental in the development of the Victory Junction Camp, a special camp for chronically ill children, after donating acres of his land that the camp sits on today.

(April 8, 2010) – USARacing has entered into a promotional agreement with Red Dirt Rising and recording artist Matt Dylan, the company announced today.

Red Dirt Rising is a feature film about the origins of stock car racing. The story follows the lives of three young men who come of age to find escape from life’s challenges on the track, ultimately shaping the future of their families and stock car racing during the Fightin’ Forties.

Dylan is a country music artist that grew up in rural North Carolina and created the song Carolina Moonshine, which is arguably the lead sound track of the movie. He has had the opportunity to open/tour with such artists as Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry, Pat Green and Trace Adkins.

“The USAR Pro Cup Series is all about stock car racing on the grass roots race tracks of America,” said Larry Camp, USARacing Pro Cup Series Managing Partner. “As the first major national touring series to return to the legendary North Wilkesboro Speedway on October 3, we’ve been working with Alton McBride and Terri Parsons to create a great experience for the fans on that weekend.

“Out of those discussions came an introduction to recording artist Matt Dylan and Red Dirt Rising promoter Todd Morris. It didn’t take long for us to figure out that the movie, Matt’s songs and the Pro Cup Series had a lot of common ground. So we’re happy to announce this relationship,” Camp added. “Our marketing slogan ‘Where Real Racing Lives’ and the themes of the movie and Matt’s songs dovetail nicely.”

The Red Dirt Rising world premiere is scheduled for Saturday, May 15 at North Wilkesboro Speedway. A full day of activities are planned including a special appearance by the USARacing Pro Cup Series Rockingham 200 race winner, a concert by Matt Dylan, and a 20-lap race by the Legendary Flathead Ford Racing Association.

“Every week this Dollar General team gives me a great car. The mile and a half program is very strong and we have been in contention to win at Vegas and Lowe’s. I think this weekend will be no different. The over the wall crew has nailed some great stops in recent weeks and we are bringing the same Toyota we had in Charlotte. With the momentum we are carrying from the solid runs at Loudon and Daytona, I feel that we will be battling for the win at the end of the race. It would be fantastic to go to victory lane with all the Dollar General guests that will be here for this weekend’s Dollar General 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.”

Crew Chief, Trent Owens, on this weekend at Chicagoland:

“We have had some really strong races this year with Vickers, especially at the mile and a half tracks. I think we are just knocking on the door of a win with the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota. We are bringing the same car with us that he drove at Lowe’s. That Camry was one of the strongest cars of the race and, had that rain held off, I think we would have had some celebrating to do in victory lane. To get our first win of the season this weekend at Chicagoland would be extra special since it is the Dollar General 300.”

Equipment Information

- The No. 32 Dollar General team will compete with chassis #040 in this weekend’s Dollar General 300.

- This is the same chassis that Braun Racing ran at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May, 2009, where Vickers started 5th and finished 4th in the rain-shortened event.
