Miller® Welders will serve as primary sponsor of the No. 19 Chevrolet Impala with driver Mike Bliss in the Top Gear 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 28, 2011. This partnership will mark Miller® Welders’ first NASCAR primary sponsorship endeavor.

Headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin and founded in 1929, Miller® Welders has grown from a one-man operation to the world’s largest manufacturer of arc welding and cutting equipment. Keeping the people as its primary focus and valuing things as integrity, commitment, loyalty, and teamwork, Miller® Welders continues to maintain its global leadership, setting the industry standard for reliability, quality, and responsiveness.

“It’s an exciting time for us to be able to partner with TriStar Motorsports and Mike Bliss”, stated Andy Weyenberg, Manager of Motorsports Marketing at Miller® Welders. “We believe in Mike’s ability and have worked with him at Xpress Motorsports when he won his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship and then again at the Haas CNC Sprint Cup program. Miller® Welders are used daily at most of these race shops, so when Rick Carpenter brought this opportunity to us, we thought it would be a great way to promote our products to everyone from the casual hobbyist to the hardcore racer.”

Not only is their equipment first class, they also put a large emphasis on people and commitment which is just one of the many reasons they have a large global presence. (Nov. 16, 2010) – The philosophy is simple – “race to win.”

This three-word mantra summarizes the goals set forth by Kyle Busch and his No. 18 Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) team since its inception nearly one year ago.

Seven wins, four drivers and two race shops later, the No. 18 Kyle Busch Motorsports team heads to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Ford 200 season finale, racing for the biggest win of its inaugural season: the 2010 Truck Series owner’s championship.

Entering this weekend’s season finale, the No. 18 Toyota sits atop the owner’s standings with a commanding 120-point lead over the second-place No. 30 truck of Germain Racing, which is driven full-time by Todd Bodine, who secured the driver title at Phoenix International Raceway last weekend.

This weekend, Busch needs to finish just 29th or better in order to clinch the owner’s championship in just his first season as an owner-driver. Aside from Richard Childress Racing’s championship run in the Truck Series’ inaugural 1995 season, Kyle Busch Motorsports would be the first organization to win the owner’s championship in its first season.

When the No. 18 KBM Toyota Tundra hit the track 24 races ago at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, the team was confident it would win races with its “rookie owner”/veteran driver behind the wheel.

But the team also knew that Busch wouldn’t pilot the No. 18 truck every race. So to have a shot at its ultimate prize – the owner’s championship – the No. 18 team would have to be competitive week in and week out, regardless of the driver’s name above the door of the racetruck.

Busch has competed in 15 Truck Series races this year while sharing the seat with Brian Ickler, who drove in seven events, and Kasey Kahne and Johnny Benson, who drove one race apiece. And, while Busch has driven the No. 18 KBM Toyota to each of its seven victories, the four KBM drivers have combined for 15 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes in 24 races.

It has been a total team effort that has propelled the No. 18 Toyota to the top of the owner’s standings with one race remaining.

Yes, for Busch and his No. 18 KBM team, the main goal this weekend is to secure the owner’s championship. But he’d also like to score his first Truck win at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In four Truck Series starts at the South Florida track, Busch has two top-five and three top-10 finishes, including a runner-up finish in 2007. He has not finished lower than 13th at the 1.5-mile oval.

While Busch hasn’t won in a Truck at Homestead, perhaps he does have luck on his side this year as he is already two-for-two this season with Traxxas, the primary sponsor on his No. 18 Toyota. Traxxas, known as the “Fastest Name in Radio Control®,” is located in Plano, Texas, and served as primary sponsor of the No. 18 Toyota in Busch’s victories at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., in August and at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in October.

And with a 120-point advantage in the owner’s championship battle, Busch and his team have a cushion big enough that they can race for not one, but two wins in this weekend’s finale – the Ford 200 victory and the Truck Series owner’s title.

Kyle Busch - Photo Credit: Jonathan Ferrey / Getty Images

Kyle Busch, Driver, No. 18 Traxxas Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports:

What does the likelihood of winning the owner’s truck title mean?

“It means a lot. We started this year and actually didn’t have anything a year ago at this point, and coming as far as we’ve come – it means quite a bit to myself and to Eric Phillips (crew chief) and Rick Ren (general manager) and all the families that we have that work for us. All the dedication that they give and the time that they’ve put in this year. When we started, I remember – I think it was Dec. 1 – Rick came on, he didn’t start until Dec. 7 because he decided he wanted a vacation before he got involved in starting a race team. We had three guys working for us up until Christmas. And then, after Christmas, from Dec. 27 or whatever it was until New Year’s, we had about seven guys.

Then we had 14 guys on Jan. 5. We came from nothing. We came from redoing trucks from Xpress that we could just get to the racetrack. We bought some assets from Roush Racing to get to the racetrack for Daytona. We knew they had good restrictor-plate trucks, and we built a lot of our own new stuff. It’s come a long way and it’s been a lot of hard work but, yet, there’s still a lot more work to do in order to get fully funded for next year.”

This weekend, you head to Homestead-Miami Speedway with a 120-point lead in the owner’s point battle. How important is having that point cushion?

“The cool thing about it is, it’s our first year and we’re in the running for the owner’s championship. I think we have to finish something like 29th at Homestead and we can win this deal. It’s good to have that little bit of cushion going, granted nothing happens. We’ll be looking at the banquet on Monday. But we’ll be careful in what we do and make sure the preparation is there.

For our first year, to come out here and be so strong and have the guys I have pulling every single week for us, working as hard as we work and having the partners that we have, they’re pumped about it. They love every minute of it. It’s been fun. We’re still looking for more next year and securing some bigger sponsors for some more races. But, hopefully, we can get some of that done during the offseason and go to Daytona and look forward to the full year.”

Eric Phillips, Crew Chief, No. 18 Traxxas Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports:

What’s the strategy going into Homestead with a 120-point advantage?

“To go win the race. That’s what we have done all year – to go to the track to win races, and the points will play out where they do. We have to be somewhat cautious and try not to put ourselves in a bad position. We just need to keep doing what we’ve done all year, and we should be fine.”

How would you describe Homestead-Miami Speedway?

“It’s somewhat like your Chicagos, Kentuckys, Kansas, but it has some different characteristics, too. The corners are a little tighter. It’s a little harder to get right. It’s really a delicate balance to get the truck turning in the center and keeping it to where you can drive it off the corner. We’ll have our work cut out for us, but it’s been a good track for Kyle in the past.”

How satisfying has this year been with seven wins for Kyle, and working with four different drivers and going for the owner’s title?

“It’s been tremendous. To be in the position we’re in from where we started in January, with all new people, new equipment, it’s very satisfying. We all knew Kyle could win, but to be competitive with everybody else who’s driven, too, was one of our big goals at the beginning of the year.”

As you look back over the year, do you have a favorite memory or something that sticks out that really meant a lot to you?

“The Nashville win. It was the first win for KBM. Personally, it was a hard week for me. The circumstances that I had gone through, that’s probably the biggest one. Obviously, if we can close the deal this Friday night, that will be another big moment. But that Nashville win was a big deal for all of us.”

Rick Ren, General Manager, No. 18 Traxxas Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports:

Talk about the strategy going into Homestead with a 120-point lead in the owner’s point title chase?

“We all know that we are going to go down there to race to win. We’ve already worked up the points, and if the 30 truck were to lead the most laps and win the race, we have to finish 29th or better. So that’s kind of a cushion for us, going in there and knowing where we’re at. Basically, I feel more comfortable now that we can go race to win, not worry about it, but we have to have our crash cart crew ready.

We’re going to have to make a plan because we know that we have to finish 29th or better. If we get torn up in the first five laps of the race and knock the front end off of it, we need to fix it. So I think, this week, we need to focus on the guys having all the crash stuff ready because it’s pretty important to try and win this owner’s championship. I feel good about it, where we’re at. We’ve used four different drivers and moved race shops. I think it’s good.”

Can you talk about this year and what it has meant to you guys – how both challenging and enjoyable it has been for you?

“We put a different group of guys together. Some of them knew each other, some of them didn’t. A couple of them had worked for me before, and a couple of them hadn’t. But I think everybody just focused on one thing, and it’s race to win every week. The championships that I have been involved in and the second-place runs I’ve been involved in, we always had the same motto – ‘Race to win, race to win, race to win, the points will take care of themselves.’ When you get down to the last few races of the year, sometimes you have to fine-tune that thought process to, ‘Race to win … up until this point.’ It’s like we talked about it going into the race at Phoenix. We need to race to win, but if it comes to the closing laps of the race, don’t risk wrecking to win the race.

And we’re going to have to go to Homestead with the same philosophy. I think the year has been great. We’ve had our ups and downs. We’ve raced with a rookie. We’ve raced with a veteran. We’ve raced with Kyle. We’ve raced with Kasey (Kahne). Basically, our guys have worked with four different drivers, and none of them had ever worked with them before, and we’ve had really good runs with each of them. It’s hats off to the guys. They’ve done a really good job.”

Can you talk about setting up for Homestead?

“Eric and I sat down and talked about our Homestead set-up the other day. I’ve gone there with multiple set-ups and have not had much success. The last few years, I’ve been in Homestead racing to win the driver’s championship so the drivers have been on edge and nothing feels right and it just doesn’t go well. I watched Kyle run the Nationwide race there last year from up in the MRN booth, so I had a different view. I watched him do a lot of really cool things driving, so I know that he knows how to get around that racetrack. What Eric and I did is, we sat down and put a little bit of a Nashville and a little bit of Kentucky and a little bit of Chicago, and we kind of put it all together. That’s how we’re going to unload, and I think we’ll be okay.”

Do you have a highlight of the year?

“The Nashville win was big. Winning at Bristol is always big, and you put that in the trifecta that Kyle had there. Just to win at Bristol is pretty awesome. It’s pretty tough to win at Bristol. Myself, I’m partial to Charlotte so, every time we win Charlotte, I’m pretty stoked up. The bad highlight of the year was Dover – dominating the race and not getting the ‘W.’”

Kyle Busch’s Traxxas Toyota Tundra:

Chassis No. KBM-004: This truck will make its sixth-ever start and will go for its fourth win of the season in Friday’s Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. KBM-004 made its first start in May at Charlotte (N.C) Motor Speedway, where KBM driver-owner Kyle Busch started from pole and led 69 of 134 laps en route to victory in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200. Its next start came in July at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway with Kasey Kahne driving. Kahne started second and led 17 of 55 laps before finishing second to Elliott Sadler.

In August, Busch drove KBM-004 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., where he started fourth and led 121 of 154 laps en route to victory. Its next start came in September at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, where Busch started fourth and finished seventh despite leading a race-high 73 laps. Its last start came just two weeks ago at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, where Busch started third and led a race-high 80 laps en route to victory.

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Phoenix International Raceway – November 12, 2010

- Kyle Busch (second) was the highest-finishing Toyota in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
(NCWTS) race at Phoenix International Raceway.

- Aric Almirola (fifth), Mike Skinner (sixth), David Starr (eighth) and Justin Lofton (ninth) also posted top-10 results for
Toyota at the one-mile race track.

- Tundra drivers Todd Bodine (12th), Timothy Peters (13th), Tayler Malsam (18th), Steve Park (19th), Tom Hessert (31st),
Jason White (32nd) and Butch Miller (36th) were also in the field.

- Bodine clinched the NCWTS driver championship at Phoenix. He holds a 202-point advantage over Almirola (second)
with one race remaining this season — and 195 points being the maximum available in next weekend’s series season finale
at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

- This is Bodine’s second NCWTS title with Germain Racing and Toyota. He also won the 2006 NCWTS championship.
Other Toyota drivers in the top-10 of the unofficial NCWTS point standings include Peters (sixth), Skinner (eighth), Starr
(ninth) and White (10th) after 24 of 25 races.

- Kyle Busch Motorsports increased their lead over Germain Racing in the unofficial NCWTS owner standings to 120
points with one race remaining in 2010.

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports

Finishing Position: 2nd

How was your race?

“I don’t know what the difference was there but the guys gave me a great Z-Line Designs Tundra tonight. It wasn’t the best in the first run. We made a huge swing at it there and got it a lot better in the middle part of the race, then there at the end we just didn’t have enough. The 2 (Clint Bowyer) was the class of the field tonight. It’s unfortunate because they beat us here last year with (Kevin) Harvick driving. We had a great points night tonight. Obviously, there are two winners here with (Todd) Bodine and Clint (Bowyer), but maybe next week will be ours.”

Are you satisfied with a second-place finish?

“We were racing for the win. There in the beginning part of the race we just didn’t have the Tundra we were looking for. In the middle part of the race we got a lot of adjustment built into it. Eric (Phillips, crew chief) did a great job getting it to where we could run in the lead and have a shot probably at winning the race, I thought. The last stop we made some more changes and just missed a little bit. Clint (Bowyer) was the class of the field tonight. He had a great truck. It’s tough to get beat by those guys two years in a row but there’s two winners here tonight in Todd (Bodine) and Clint (Bowyer) and hopefully next week will be our night. I can’t thank Z-Line Designs and all the guys at FlexCo, and everyone at M&M’s, Mars an d NOS Energy Drink. It was a great night for us here. Coming up second is disappointing but we know what the big picture is for next week.”

What do you feel knowing you increased the owner’s championship lead with one race to go?

“We would have liked to have won the race but you take a good truck like this and you run second with it and beat the guys you’re here to beat and we’ll look to next week and try for a win there.”

Does having a 120 point lead in the owner’s title make you feel a little bit better?

“It is what it is, we knew that running well, the points would take care of themselves and it’s good to have that little bit of
cushion going into next week granted nothing happens. We’ll be looking at the banquet on Monday.”

What does the likelihood of winning the owner’s truck title mean?

“It means a lot. Where we started this year and actually not having anything a year ago at this point and coming as far as we’ve come — it means quite a bit to myself and to Eric Phillips (crew chief) and Rick Ren (general manager) and all the families that we have that work for us. All the dedication that they give and the time that they’ve put in this year. When we started, I remember — I think it was December 1st Rick came on, he didn’t start until December 7th because he decided he wanted a vacation before he got involved in starting a race team.

We had three guys working for us up until Christmas and then after Christmas, from December 27th or whatever it was until New Years, we had about seven guys . Then we had 14 guys on January 5th. We came from nothing. We came from redoing trucks from Xpress that we could just get to the race track. We bought some assets from Roush Racing to get to the race track for Daytona. We knew that they had good restrictor plate trucks and we built a lot of our own new stuff. It’s come a long ways and it’s been a lot of hard work but yet there’s still a lot more work to do in order to get fully funded for next year.”

ARIC ALMIROLA, No. 51 Billy Ballew Motorsports Toyota Tundra, Billy Ballew Motorsports

Finishing Position: 5th

How was your race?

“It was a good night for us. We fought really loose all night. We couldn’t find a good balance for our truck. To have the truck not handle the way we wanted it to and come home with a fifth, I’m proud of that. I wanted to be better than that tonight. We’ve run really good here before and I’m just disappointed we didn’t run any better than that.”

Does a string of 12 top-10 finishes mean anything to you?

“Nah, I’d rather win races.”

DAVID STARR, No. 81 Toyota Tundra, Green Light Racing

Finishing Position: 8th

JUSTIN LOFTON, No. 7 visitPIT.com Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing

Finishing Position: 9th

TODD BODINE, No. 30 Germain.com Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 12th

How does it feel to be the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion?

“Actually, I wish it felt better. That was such a terrible performance tonight. But, one night doesn’t make a team. And Germain Racing has done a hell of a job all year — so consistent every week. Once in a while you’re going to slip and have nights like this, but we never gave up we kept digging the whole night. And Jr. (Mike Hillman Jr., crew chief) made some adjustments. It just wasn’t there. I’m proud to be part of a race team that can do what we do every week and year after year. We’ve never finished out of the top-four in points. That says a lot about Jr. and the way he operates his team and his guys and all the guys that we have. Just a tremendous effort for five years now and to get number two is validation for number one. So, it’s pretty special.

How special is it to be back on top with this team?

“That’s the deal. I mean, we didn’t have a sponsor, but the Germain brothers decided last winter that we were going to race this 30 truck no matter what. They were going to come out of their pockets to make this happen knowing that we have a team that can go out and win races, run up front and win championships. They knew that they had that kind of team. They put that commitment, that trust in Jr. (Mike Hillman Jr., crew chief) and Sr. (Mike Hillman, general manager) and myself and all these guys that we can go out and get it done.

So, for them to have Germain.com and Germain Motor Company on this truck — that makes us proud. We had Valvoline on here four times this year and we were really proud to represent them — they have been so good to our sport and been a great partner for Germain and Germain Racing.”

How does it feel to clinch your second NCWTS championship?

“It’s pretty awesome. It’s a little disappointing because our performance tonight was terrible. We just really missed it. It shows the character of this team all year long to never give up. We knocked up a lot of top-fives and that’s what really did it for us.

We have four wins, which is great, but the top-fives and consistency of this team and how hard these guys work every week — that’s what got us here to this point. We did this without a sponsor. We have Germain Motor Company on the quarter panels, but that’s three guys (Germain brothers) that care about their team and love the people that work for their team. They made that commitment to fund this out of their pockets. Knowing that getting a sponsor was a big question mark, they made that commitment to this team and those guys to come out and do this for us.

They knew we could win this championship. We have a great team. All the guys back at the shop and TRD and everybody at Triad are doing a great job with the motors. We’ve got an incredible race team. It’s a shame we don’t have a sponsor on here. We have something going into the winter with and a little momentum here. It’s been a good year — can’t complain. I want to say hi to my daughter Ashlyn, I know you’re watching pumpkin, I love you.”

How does your team have a never say die attitude?

“That’s exactly right. The first five races we got top-five finishes, but we really didn’t have good race trucks. They were
driving terrible. (Mike Hillman) Jr. (crew chief) figured out how to make them drive and then we got that consistency and got that momentum. Along the way we had a lot of good luck. I forget where it was, we had a flat tire coming down pit road and the caution comes out — saves our lap. The spin and win at Kentucky — we’ve had good luck and those types of things that along with good performance and hard work you’ve got to have good luck. We had it this year. My buddy (Ron) Hornaday, he’s had the worst luck all year and tonight is another example. You’ve just got to have good luck. We did that. The old adage is you make your own luck and this team has done a great job all year doing that.”

What does this win mean to your team?

“Germain Racing has done such a great job. All the guys at the shop and the motor shop and the guys on the road crew. (Mike Hillman) Jr. (crew chief) has led this team to another championship. It shows his leadership skills and how good a person he is. We have a never give up attitude — that’s what brought us to this point and got us here. We never give up. We’ve been down and we’ve been laps down and come back and win races. We don’t give up and I’m proud to be the guy that drives this Toyota Tundra for a great race team.”

Michigan International Speedway

VFW 200

June 12, 2010

· Peters at Michigan… he VFW 200 will mark Timothy Peters’ fourth start at Michigan International Speedway. In this event last season, Peters earned his first top-10 finish at the 2-mile oval. In that event, he started 18th and battled his way to an eighth place finish. Michigan International Speedway is one of Peters’ favorite tracks on the Truck Series circuit and this weekend he will pilot a brand new chassis. So far this season, he has earned six top-10 finishes in only eight races. Four of those top-10’s came on intermediate tracks.

· Anniversary Weekend… This Saturday’s race at Michigan International Speedway marks one full year Timothy Peters has piloted the #17 Toyota Tundra for Red Horse Racing. His first event behind the wheel for Red Horse was the MIS race in 2009. Last weekend in Texas, Peters ran his 25th race for RHR, completing one full season. The VFW 200 will mark his 26th start for RHR and the 76th Camping World Truck Series start of his career.

· Still In The Hunt… Peters seems to be back on track for his 2010 Championship run after two top-10 finishes in the past two events. Earning a 10th place finish at Charlotte and a seventh place finish at Texas, Peters and the #17 team have turned their luck around. Right now he sits third in the Camping World Truck Series driver point standings, just 135 points behind the leader. The #17 Tundra sits fifth in Owner point standings, 135 points back.

· Crescent Tools On Board… The Crescent Tools logo will adorn the #17 Toyota Tundra as an associate sponsor for the entire 2010 season. The Crescent brand product line now consists not only of adjustable wrenches, but also a wide selection of other tools. These include, several styles of pliers, ratcheting wrenches, screwdrivers, and tool sets. One of the most recent examples of Crescent innovation is the new RapidSlide™ adjustable wrench.

Timothy Peters on racing at Michigan International Speedway: “Michigan is one of my favorite tracks to race on. I love the multiple grooves and the exciting door to door racing that you get from that. It’s been a year since I joined Red Horse and that’s really special. This has been a great opportunity for me and I’d love to get Tom DeLoach a win this weekend as a thank you for taking a chance on me.”

Jeff Hensley on racing at Michigan International Speedway: “I’ve had some good runs at Michigan in the past. Last year, when I was at Xpress Motorsports, I think we had a truck that could win the race but we got wrecked. I feel confident in our set-up and the chassis we are taking this weekend. I would expect us to contend for the win. We have been running well at these intermediate tracks and getting better each win. I think a win is just around the corner.”

- Red Horse Racing Press Release

Equipment Information Timothy Peters will compete with chassis #132 in the VFW 200 at Michigan International Speedway. This is a brand new chassis.

Timothy Peters Seeks Sponsorship Partner Peters is still seeking sponsorship for his #17 Toyota Tundra. Red Horse Racing is currently running the #17 without primary sponsorship. For more information on sponsorship opportunities please contact Tom DeLoach at 704-662-0039.

Byrd, a long-time racing industry veteran with experience on both the marketing and racing operations side, will serve as the primary day-to-day manager of driver Kyle Busch, the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion and a 16-time winner on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

“With Kyle’s growing stature in the sport and his entry as a team owner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, we mutually felt Kyle needed a business manager focused 100 percent on his overall program,” said Motorsports Management International (MMI) Founder and President Cary Agajanian. “Emmett brings with him a great deal of experience and respect in the racing industry.”

Byrd previously served as President and General Manager of Xpress Motorsports, a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team that driver Brian Scott piloted to victory last year at Dover International Speedway and finished the season seventh in driver standings. Byrd will work closely with an internal MMI team that includes William Anthony (legal counsel), Brad White (financials), Chris Newman (sales and marketing) and several others servicing Busch and Kyle Busch Motorsports, his first-year NASCAR Camping World Truck Series operation.

TOYOTA NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS)

Notes & Quotes – Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) Press Conference – December 11, 2009

KYLE BUSCH, Owner/Driver, No. 18 Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports

How did this ownership opportunity present itself?

“For this year, I’ve been working with my Late Model teams across the country and racing here or there and I felt like working with KBM (Kyle Busch Motorsports) and those guys, the next logical step for me to move up in my racing career and what I wanted to do, ownership-wise, was the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. For us this year, we’re looking forward to being able to house two full-time truck teams in the Camping World Truck Series — myself in the Miccosukee Resorts Tundra and Tayler Malsam in the No. 56 Talking Rain Tundra. I’ve got a lot of leadership that’s come on this year with Rick Ren being ultimately one of the best guys in the sport to go after and try to bring in to our field of operations and make him director of competition and ultimately handle everything on the day-to-day basis so we can allow my busy schedule to stay as busy as it needs to be with the (NASCAR Sprint) Cup (Series) stuff. I’m really excited about the driver lineup. We have Tayler Malsam, a young 20-year-old driver who I feel like has got a lot of potential and a lot of drive, just like myself. We’re also looking at Brian Ickler, who has been racing for my Late Model team, racing in the ARCA Series this past season and racing in the Truck Series last year as well. I feel like there’s a lot of potential in Brian, in order to bring him along. And with the leadership of Rick, I feel like we can have all three of us be capable of winning races on a weekly basis.”

What impact has Toyota had on your racing career and this ownership opportunity?

“Toyota has been an instrumental part of this program and what they’ve brought to us and what resources they brought us have been. For them to come on board and really stick behind Kyle Busch Motorsports and myself and Rick Ren (director of competition, Kyle Busch Motorsports) — to give us all the necessary tools to go out there and to perform at our next level — is really going to be great for us. Toyota has been an instrumental part of this sport — the Camping World Truck Series — with its Tundra brand and everything it has been able to accomplish over the past few seasons, winning the manufacturer’s championships for a couple of years. Of course, having Johnny Benson — who is actually here today with us as well, too — winning the last Craftsman championship a couple years ago. If we can pull enough stuff together, we’d like to be able to bring Johnny Benson in and run a third full-time truck deal as well. I feel like if there’s some sponsorship opportunities out there for people, we’ve got the space for it, we’ve got the people for it, we’ve got the trucks for it, that we could run a third deal.”

What is it about ownership that you find intriguing enough to become so involved?

“I feel really blessed that my opportunities that I’ve had over the last few seasons in NASCAR, to now kind of give back a little bit. I have given back to the local short track ranks with the Late Model cars and have had some good partners on that side. And now, with the Camping World Truck Series program, I feel like it’s really going to be beneficial to me to have Rick Ren (director of competition, Kyle Busch Motorsports) on board and to give back to such young drivers, like Brian Ickler, like Tayler Malsam and myself. It’s a fun deal for me. I really enjoy racing in the Camping World Truck Series — one of my favorite divisions to race in. Of course, the focus is solely on the Cup stuff for myself and that’s been an instrumental part of bringing Rick (Ren) in, so I can keep that focus over there on that side. The time has come. We talked about doing this stuff, actually, a year ago, and never really could get the right people in place. Never really could get the right opportunity, but it all fell together this year.”

How supportive were Joe and J.D. Gibbs of you becoming a team owner?

“Joe (Gibbs, team owner, Joe Gibbs Racing) and J.D. (Gibbs, President, Joe Gibbs Racing) were very supportive in the whole act. I feel like they have really come to me and have taken me by the arm and helped lead me into this ownership role. Being able to have J.D. give me some of the Joe Gibbs Racing resources in order to help our team out as well. We’re going to be able to utilize some of their pit crew, like their pit crew coaches to come coach our guys, we’re going to utilize some of their in-shop stuff — chassis structure, builds, CNC machine work, transmissions, gears — stuff like that. Really, they’ve been instrumental in helping me and bringing us along so we can kind of take some of the expense of what it costs to operate and lower those and have the help of those guys. They’ve been really positive about the whole thing and I appreciate their support.”

What are your goals for Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2010?

“I feel the realistic goals would be to have each truck win at least one race this year. I feel like Tayler’s (Malsam) capable of it or I wouldn’t have him in this position if I didn’t feel that way. I feel like myself and Brian Icker are as well too, of course. When we go into this year, the goals for the year are to compete for the championship with the No. 56 truck, driver and owner championship with Tayler Malsam. That’s the number one team, all the resources and everything we are going to devote towards Tayler and make sure that we can try to build him up to being championship caliber this year. The Miccosukee truck, we’re actually going to work towards myself and Brian (Ickler) bringing home an owner’s championship in that and being able to get Brian some more experience so hopefully for the 2011 season we can have Brian in a truck full time and have the funding that we need necessary in order to do that and keep Kyle Busch Motorsports Camping World Truck Series program going.”

Will you change your driving style now that you’re an owner?

“No, I will still tear off as many fenders as I need to get some wins. That’s what it’s about in this sport. We got people to fix and we have to keep job security going at the shop. No, realistically, for myself, I’m looking forward to the opportunity. This is a really deep undertaking in order to do this and to start two, let alone just one, truck teams for next year. To have the resources of Toyota and all the fine folks like Lee White (Toyota Racing Development president and general manager) and Laerte (Zatta, Toyota Racing Development program manager, NASCAR Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series) and all the guys that work so hard at Toyota to help us out. To have Triad (Racing Technologies) engines coming on board with us next year to help us fulfill that void in the program. It’s really going to be a neat deal. I gotta thank James Finch and Miccosukee. And, of course Tayler (Malsam) and Brian (Ickler) for coming on board and believing in the program and taking full faith in what we’ve got going on and what we’re trying
to build here with Kyle Busch Motorsports. Ultimately, the biggest amount respect I have for anyone here is got to go to Rick Ren (KBM Director of Competition) because he took a big leap of faith to take a team that started from nothing and to build it into something. We may have assets from Xpress Motorsports and stuff like that, but we have got to turn all those into our own at Kyle Busch Motorsports and make those successful.”

BRIAN ICKLER, No. 18 Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports

Will you feel pressure to get to victory lane racing in Kyle Busch’s truck when he’s not in the truck?

“Absolutely. I did it all year last year. He’d (Kyle Busch) win three in a row and I’d have to get in there and have pretty big shoes to fill. It’s nothing new. Kyle (Busch) expects a lot. He’s really hard on himself and I’m hard on myself. Rick (Ren, director of competition, Kyle Busch Motorsports) and I are just starting to get to know each other. He just told me that he’s personally going to be down on himself if we’re not running good. That’s what I want to hear. Kyle is the same way. He’s a racer at heart and I think everybody behind this program with Kyle, Rick being on board, Tayler (Malsam), Toyota — all we want to do is win. That’s our number one goal and we’ll do the best we can.”

TAYLER MALSAM, No. 56 Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports

What will it be like to work with an owner like Kyle Busch?

“I think it’s going to be good. We have a lot of the same characteristics on the race track and I think he (Kyle Busch) can teach me a lot about where to run and where to run here and there. Mike (Skinner) did a great job, but me and Kyle are closer together in age and it will help us with that relationship. I’m always about winning and I’m going to do whatever it takes to win and that’s how Kyle is too. It’s going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to get the season started.”

RICK REN, Director of Competition, Kyle Busch Motorsports

Why did you make the move to Kyle Busch Motorsports?
“It was a combination of things. I’ve been traveling a lot the last few years and this move back to a race facility in Mooresville, North Carolina is closer to home. I can spend a little more time at home. Then you’ve got to look at the opportunity that’s here. People can work their whole career in different businesses all across the country and to have an opportunity at any time to make a move like this is just something you didn’t want to turn down. I think Kyle (Busch), for a young man, has a lot on his plate. A lot of opportunities. He’s phenomenal at what he does. And for me to get to work with him and his company on a day-to-day basis is a pretty good opportunity and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Will you miss being a crew chief in the Camping World Truck Series?

“I’ve had an accomplished career and I’m good with that. I’ve had a couple of championships and wins and it’s all good. This opportunity to get to work with Kyle (Busch) and these young drivers is a challenge, a breath of fresh air, you might say for these young guys. If we can get Johnny (Benson) onboard — Johnny and I have a great rapport with each other and have a great track record together — that would come together very quick. So it’s very exciting for me to be put in this position to try to help with the young man that’s the owner and to try to help the two young men that want to have a career in racing. Hopefully we can get Johnny (Benson) and I — us older guys — back to victory lane. It’s also great to be back with Toyota. I worked with Toyota in the past. Johnny (Benson) and I had success there. They have a lot of resources. They’re behind this whole package all the way and it’s just great to have the endorsement, like Kyle (Busch) said, from the Gibbs family. So, am I going to miss calling the races day-to-day? You will for a while, but when you step back and see what you’re trying to accomplish for a young man who’s making a big step into the ownership role, that’s gratifying enough.”

Rick Ren told Sirius NASCAR Radio’s Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody Friday that he will serve as Director of Operations for the new Kyle Busch Motorsports beginning in 2010, overseeing a three-truck NASCAR Camping World Truck Series operation. “It was a multi-fold decision,” said Ren. “I’ve been on the road a lot these last few years, doing lots of driving back and forth to work. This new package works well for my wife and I. I can be closer to home, spend more time with her and still oversee the structure of this new company.” Ren said the team will hold a press conference next Friday to lay out more of its plans. He said the team’s new facility is not yet completed, but promised that it will be state of the art.

He confirmed that Busch will purchase the Xpress Motorsports building, its inventory of trucks and all its contents, giving KBM one complete team almost immediately. Trucks are currently being built to field up to two more entries, if funding comes through. Ren said he and Busch “have had a really good friendship for the last three years. We have talked at the tracks and hung out a little bit away from work. We have a mutual admiration for each other, and one thing kind of led to another. I’m trying to help a young man who has a natural ability to drive racecars to build and own his own race team. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

It was Scott’s strong mid-season run however that will define his tenure in the truck series. Scott posted 13 top-ten finishes, 7 top-five finishes and his first career NASCAR touring series win at Dover. He had several near misses, finishing second to NCWTS champion Ron Hornaday Jr. at Memphis and Nashville and adding third place finishes at Kansas, Milwaukee and St. Louis. For the majority of the campaign, Scott competed with a cast on his broken right wrist, courtesy of a hard crash at Michigan in the ninth race of the year.

“I really wanted to win this race for all the people that supported me,” Scott said. “All the guys on this Xpress Motorsports crew that worked so hard all year long, I really wanted to have a good run for them. My family, especially my mom and dad have been very supportive. We wanted to finish in the top-five in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points and we had a chance coming into the race only 13 points out but we just came up short. I just want to thank everyone for all their efforts all year long.”

Brian Scott

Scott qualified his No. 16 Xpress Motorsports Toyota Tundra in the 24th position. At the drop of the green flag he wasted no time in moving forward through the field, picking up 8 positions in the first three laps of the race. When the caution flag fell on lap 31 Scott came down pit road for tires on lap 32 and for fuel and a chassis adjustment on lap 33. He came into the pits 13th and exited in 11th. His crew discovered that Scott’s right rear tire had been cut and was leaking significantly during his previous green flag run. Shortly after the ensuing restart Scott climbed into the top-ten and seemed to be on the verge of making a strong run to the front.

In fact on 18 separate occasions Scott posted the fastest lap of the race. However a snafu in the pits during a pit stop under caution on laps 59 and 60 placed Scott in 19th. He was able to claw his way back into the top ten over the next 30 laps but he was forced to make a green flag pit stop on lap 98 and lost two laps to the leaders and fell back to 22nd. Scott made up one lap over the last segment of the event and passed 10 trucks to finish in the 12th position.

Kevin Harvick won the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, his second NCWTS win in a row. Matt Crafton, Colin Braun, Timothy Peters and Todd Bodine rounded out the top-five. Following NCWTS champion Ron Hornaday Jr. in points were Crafton, Mike Skinner, Bodine, Braun, Johnny Sauter and Scott.

Are you happy with the way you ended your 2009 season tonight?

“What a way to end a year with this Strutmasters.com Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra. It’s just awesome to end a year on this note right here. We looked to stay out and we didn’t have anything to lose. We were gambling to see if we could get us another victory but I tried to get the tires as clean as I could and I spun them a little bit. A rookie mistake on my part. I’ve got to thank Chad Kendrick (crew chief) and everybody on this team. They do a great job. From where we started at Daytona not knowing if we could make it past Martinsville. Tom DeLoach (Red Horse Racing, team owner) gave me an awesome opportunity to be here. Strustmasters.com, Toyota, Toyota, Toyota — I can’t thank those guys enough. I’m
looking forward to next season.”

How did your truck handle during the race?

“It was good for us. Our Strutmasters.com Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra was good right off the lift gate. We made a gamble there at the end to stay out thinking some people would stay out with us but everybody came in. Chad Kendrick (crew chief) did a great job. The whole team — considering where we started at in Daytona not knowing that I could make it past Martinsville. I don’t know where we ended up in points but we had a good finish and got us a win this year.”

Timothy Peters (Photo Credit: John Harrelson/Getty Images for NASCAR)

Why did those trucks beat you on that final restart?

“They had fresh tires. Everybody came down pit road and we were just the lonely sole out there. But all in all it was a
good day. I’m just ecstatic. When we joined Red Horse Racing we were 19th in drivers points and I think we ended up
around seventh. It’s been an awesome year and I’m ready to go to Daytona.”

What happened on the final restart?

“When you race with these guys you learn a lot and (Kevin) Harvick is the best of the best. I cleaned my tires off but
evidentially it wasn’t enough. I made a rookie mistake and spun them too much, but he had new tires and was going to go
by us in turn one anyway.”

Todd Bodine

TODD BODINE, No. 30 Copart Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 5th

What happened from your viewpoint on the ‘green-white-checkered’ finish?

“The truck series usually is pretty crazy with the green-white-checkered. Before the caution came out we had the fastest
truck on the track. We were just so far back, we were running seventh, so we decided to come in, put two tires on and gain
a little track position. We pumped the right front tire up a little too high and it pushed too much in the last two laps. We
still gained two spots. Copart and everybody, I really appreciate what they’ve done for us this year in getting us through the
year with their sponsorship. It’s typical Germain Racing — we just never give up. We started the season with a win at
Daytona with no sponsor on the truck and we made it through the season with the help of Copart, Ventrillo and Lumber
Liquidators. It was a tough year, but we got through.”

What were you adjusting in your truck when you lifted the hood halfway through the race?

“The first set of tires, we corded the inside pretty bad. I think it was really the right call to come in and adjust it so we
didn’t blow it out. We didn’t need to finish in the back – we needed to keep the points up to finish fourth in points. It really
didn’t help it drive any better, but it definitely saved the tire and kept us in front of Johnny (Sauter) for fourth in points.”

No. 5 Exide Batteries Toyota Tundra

MIKE SKINNER, No. 5 Exide Batteries Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports

Finishing Position: 6th

What happened from your viewpoint on the ‘green-white-checkered’ finish?

“That was crazy and that cost us a spot right there. I didn’t know if I was supposed to come on pit road or not. Just had a
lot of confusion going on with the radio right there. We had about a fourth or fifth-place truck and we lost a couple spots
right there at the end. We’ve got a good race team and we’ve got a lot to build on. I’m proud to be driving a Toyota Tundra
and I can’t wait till Daytona.”

Mike Skinner

How was your season overall?

“It was a great season and I really felt like I would have liked to have finished a little better last night. I thought that we
might have had a little better truck. Eric (Phillips, crew chief) did a good job, the pit crew did a fantastic job – I don’t think
the driver did that good of a job tonight. I kept overdriving the corners and trying to get grip that just wasn’t there. Tim
Fedewa did a great job spotting, he kept trying to get me to slow down in the corner. When I would slow down getting in
the corner, I would run really good laps and we had a really good truck. Got to work on the driver a little bit with these tires
that are like this. Goodyear does a great job and I know they’ll get us better stuff next year.”

Brian Scott

MOORESVILLE, NC (November 16, 2009) – NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wins are hard to come by for any team. When you get the chance to put yourself in position to win one you want to make the most of your opportunities. For Brian Scott and his Xpress Motorsports teammates, last year’s Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway was like the big fish that got away. Scott drove a masterful race and came within one late restart of winning the season finale. Now Scott returns to Homestead with a renewed sense of determination and with his eyes firmly on the prize – this Friday night’s Ford 200.

“Homestead in 2008 was definitely the one that got away because we had a really good chance and an opportunity to win that race,” Scott recalls. “There was a late restart and I ended up learning a great deal, I learned about how to keep somebody behind you on a late restart. That one slipped away because if I hadn’t gotten passed on the first corner on that restart we would have probably won the race. But you learn from those kinds of things and with the experience I have now that probably wouldn’t happen. It would be really cool to go there and redeem ourselves and get that win. I hope to be in that position and be able to capitalize on that at the end of this year’s race.”

Scott’s veteran crew chief Jeff Hensley has seen a lot in his 20 plus years as a NASCAR competitor, both as a driver and a crew chief. He realized immediately after last year’s Homestead event that Scott was the real deal. It took only seven races into the 2009 season before the duo got to Victory Lane at Dover.

“Homestead last year was one that did get away,” Jeff Hensley says. “It got off the hook definitely. We were so good there last year and we really surprised some people. Brian did an excellent job. We are taking the same truck we took to Texas, and actually it is the same one we took to Homestead last year. It has been a good truck for us. I feel like we have always had a really good feel for Homestead, we have always been pretty competitive at that track. I know all of us want to go back and get that win for this Xpress Motorsports team. Last year it was sort of a crowning moment for us, as we came within just a few laps of winning it. It would be great to end up the season with a win.”

The Homestead finale will be the finishing touch on what has been a productive season for Scott and the Xpress Motorsports team. In addition to Scott’s first career win at Dover, the team has recorded seven top-five finishes and 13 top-ten finishes in 24 starts. The team stands on the precipice of the top-five in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings, just 13 points behind Johnny Sauter who currently resides in fifth. Both Hensley and Scott are appreciative of the performance generated by the collective efforts of the Xpress team.

“It is unbelievable what these guys have accomplished this season,” Hensley adds. “If anybody had suggested at the beginning of the season that we would have won a race, led a bunch of races, posted the top-fives and the top-ten finishes that we have, they would have looked at them like they had two heads. I never had a doubt in my mind that we would be this strong. We have assembled a really talented group of people, we have really good equipment and it was just a matter of executing at the racetrack and by and large we have done that. Brian has done an excellent job behind the wheel. We would have liked to be a little more consistent but all in all it has been a really good year.”

“Xpress Motorsports has proven to be a great organization,” Scott states. “This team has accomplished a lot. We are always working on ways to get better and improve our performance. You can’t ask for anything more than that. We have a great group of truly talented individuals on this team that have all pulled together and worked as a unit. It is going to be bittersweet going to Homestead and knowing that this is going to be the last time that this same group is going to be together. I feel like our paths will cross again, and it won’t be my last race in the truck series or my last race with Jeff. It will just be tough for it all to come to an end at Homestead.”

Homestead-Miami Speedway is a worthy venue for NASCAR’s final championship weekend. The 1.5 mile high-speed, high-banked oval provides several racing grooves and allows the competitors to search out a line that works well for them. Based on their second place finish there both Scott and Hensley are anxious to return to South Florida.

“Homestead is a great racetrack,” Scott says. “It has always treated me well. I like going there with Jeff Hensley in a Toyota and with the set ups he has for that track. We always seems to run really well. We probably won’t qualify on the pole because some others will have more raw speed, but hopefully we will out-handle them in the race and ultimately that is what is going to be important.”

“Homestead-Miami’s track surface bakes in the South Florida sun all year long,” Hensley notes. “Every year we go back it has less and less grip. It is just tougher to get a hold of it each year. The track changes a lot at night. Fortunately both our practices at Homestead are late in the day or early evening so we end up racing in almost the same conditions that we practice in. It is a real fast racetrack and you have to be secure getting into the turn and yet still be able to turn it up off and stay in the throttle. With the engine rules we have it is very important to keep your momentum up. It is not an easy track to get everything dialed in just right. If anybody ever figures it out they are probably long gone.”

The Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway is slated for Friday November 20th at 8:00pm ET and will be telecast live nationally on SPEED. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.

Chassis for Homestead-Miami Speedway: Xpress Motorsports will bring chassis number 52 to the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This Triad Racing Technologies chassis finished second at Homestead in the 2008 season finale with Scott at the helm and finished third at Kansas earlier this season. It competed at Kentucky Speedway where Scott qualified second and led for 29 laps before blowing a right front tire and crashing hard into the outside retaining wall. Despite the heavy damage Scott rallied to finish 6th in that event. This chassis made hard contact with the turn four wall at Chicagoland Speedway. The chassis was subject to extensive repairs before being prepared for Texas Motor Speedway where it finished 7th.

Paint Scheme honors Xpress Motorsports employees: The paint scheme for the No. 16 Toyota Tundra at the season finale in Homestead will be a fitting tribute to the employees at Xpress Motorsports. The Xpress Motorsports logo and the names of each employee are prominently displayed on the No. 16 for the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“I can’t say enough about the efforts that this team has put forth this year,” Xpress Motorsports President and General Manager Emmett Byrd said. “Everyone on this team has given a great effort each and every week. When we won, we won together and when we lost, we lost together. We wanted to do something that at least in a small way shows the appreciation of all the hard work this group has produced. We are just 13 points from finishing in the top-five in points, hopefully this paint scheme will bring us some well deserved good luck.”

The bad news for Scott is that Johnny Sauter jumped both Scott and Braun and now holds a 13 point advantage for the fifth spot heading into next weekend’s NCWTS finale. After the Phoenix race Scott’s Xpress Motorsports crew discovered that a left rear shock absorber had failed and hampered Scott’s performance in the event.

Scott qualified his No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra in the 8th position for Friday night’s event and held his spot over the first 30 laps. When the caution flag fell on lap 32, Scott radioed his crew that his truck seemed to “want to roll over on the right front.” He ducked down pit road for four fresh Goodyear tires on lap 35 and Sunoco fuel on lap 36. His crew also made a series of chassis adjustments including track bar, wedge and air pressure changes to aid the handling of his Toyota. Scott came into the pits in the 7th spot and exited in 9th.

Over the next 45 green flag laps Scott seesawed positions ranging from 7th to 10th. Scott struggled with the handling of his truck informing his crew that he was “loose on entry.” When the caution flag once again flew on lap 89, crew chief Jeff Hensley ordered his driver down pit road for “wholesale changes.” Scott pitted on lap 92 for tires and 93 for fuel and significant chassis adjustments – two rounds on the track bar and two rounds down in the left rear. Scott restarted the race on lap 96 in the 12th position and quickly moved up to 10th. Unfortunately on lap 128 Scott was pinned in on the frontstrech by a lapped vehicle and the result was a loss of four spots. Over the next 15 laps there were two more cautions. On the race’s last restart Scott was battling the No. 81 driven by Tayler Malsam when the two collided on lap 149, bringing out another caution as the leaders took the white flag. Malsam’s ensuing spin and contact with the turn four retaining wall brought out the yellow flag that ended the event.

It looks like our battle for fifth in the points race is going to go down to the wire at Homestead. Johnny Sauter, our Xpress Motorsports team and Colin Braun are all right there. We just need to go to Homestead and have the kind of run that we know we are capable of having.”

Kevin Harvick won the Lucas Oil 150 and Ron Hornaday Jr. captured his fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship. Kyle Busch was second, Aric Almirola third, Hornaday Jr Ford 200 at Homstead-Miami Speedway. The event is slated for Friday November 20th and will be telecast live on SPEED at 8:00pm ET. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Phoenix International Raceway – November 13, 2009

- Kyle Busch (second) was the top finishing Toyota driver in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
(NCWTS) race at Phoenix International Raceway.

- Aric Almirola (third) also finished in the top-five at Phoenix, his seventh top-five result in 15 starts this season.
Mike Skinner (sixth), Mike Bliss (seventh), David Starr (ninth) and Stacy Compton (10th) also had top-10 finishes
for Toyota at the one-mile race track.

- Tundra drivers Brian Scott (11th), Todd Bodine (12th), T.J. Bell (13th), Timothy Peters (16th), Tayler Malsam
(17th) and Brad Sweet (22nd) were also in the field.

- Five Tundra drivers are among the top-10 in the unofficial NCWTS point standings — Skinner (third), Bodine
(fourth), Scott (sixth), Starr (eighth) and Peters (ninth) – with one race remaining in the 2009 season.

Finishing Position: 2nd

How was your race tonight?

“We weren’t as good as the 4 (Kevin Harvick). We did the best that we can and that’s all that we could come home with.
He (Kevin Harvick) kicked our butt pretty bad last year and we got a gain on it this year and that gain right there, we need
another one and we’ll be able to keep up with them or try to at least beat him. We kept up with him tonight but needed a
little more.”

Did you feel that you had a race-winning truck tonight?

“We didn’t have enough for the (Kevin) Harvick trucks tonight. (Ron) Hornaday kind of battled for a championship, played
it smart and (Kevin) Harvick was really fast like I said before. We came home second. It was a good day for the
Miccosukee Toyota Tundra. We gained from last year. (Kevin) Harvick whooped our butt pretty bad last year but we
gained on it a little bit. If we had another gain like that we probably would be able to keep up with him or win.”

Did you feel like Kevin Harvick had a big advantage over you?

“It wasn’t bad, it was about what I expected. I expected the 4 (Kevin Harvick) truck to be really, really good in which he
was. I guess he wasn’t driving in the beginning of the race. He was just holding back seeing what everybody had. Our
truck was good. We made a gain on it from last year to this year distancewise from (Kevin) Harvick. Harvick was just
stupid fast last year. This year I felt like we made a gain. If we can make another one of those gains next year then we’ll be
right on him. Overall, the Miccosukee Tundra was good. We led some laps and tried to go for the win but just didn’t quite
have enough on those restarts there.”

Do you think the 51 truck has a chance at winning the owner’s championship next weekend?

“I can’t close the gap, I’ve got to take that gap. They’re going to race next week hard as ever. They’re going to go and try
to win the race. That’s going to be the plan. They’ve got the driver’s championship locked up so if they go out there and
try to win the race and are successful at that then we can’t catch them. But if they go out there and try to win the race and
have problems by having issues whether it’s a wreck or engine or a tire – it could be anything. That’s why we race races.
Hopefully we can battle it out and have a good, strong run and see if we can’t beat them. Sixty points, I don’t know how
many spots that is but I take it that it’s probably 17 or so. So it’s going to be hard to do.”

Aric Almirola

ARIC ALMIROLA, No. 15 Graceway Pharmaceuticals Toyota Tundra, Billy Ballew Motorsports

Finishing Position: 3rd

How did your truck handle during the race?

“We had a good truck. Doug George (crew chief) and everybody on this AK Awareness.com Tundra did a really good job.
I don’t know what it’s going to take to get one of these ones. It’s not for a lack of effort. I can promise you that.
Everybody is racing their hearts out. Our truck just wasn’t very good on short runs and for whatever reason that last set of
tires didn’t take off very good for us. It was really tight – that last set of tires. We chattered the right front for quite a while
and just couldn’t ever take off.”

How was your race tonight?

“It was a fun race tonight. The race track widened out. You could run two-wide pretty good. The bottom lane was
definitely preferred but you could move around. It was a good race. I’m just still disappointed, man, I want to get one of
these wins some kind of bad. We tried, we raced our butts off and we came home third. That was what we had tonight.”

Was your truck better on the short or long runs tonight?

“It wasn’t very good on short runs. We struggled yesterday on short runs, too, in practice and for whatever reason it just
wouldn’t take off. We chattered the right front, chattered the right front and finally it would come in and take off and it
would go pretty good. I’m really proud of everybody at Billy Ballew Motorsports. Doug George (crew chief) and all of the
guys on this AK Awareness Tundra have been doing a great job. We just came up short. I’m going to win one of these
races one of these days. We just keep coming up short but it’s not for lack of effort.”

How has your team progressed over the season?

“Our team has really stepped their game up. We bring trucks to the race track every single weekend and they’re capable of
winning and I think we’ve proved that. Talladega we ran one-two and unfortunately I was second. Texas we had a top-
five, top-three truck and I lost power steering about lap 35 and then here again we had another good truck and led laps and
ran upfront but just couldn’t seem to seal the deal. I’m very proud of everything that everybody’s got going on at Billy
Ballew Motorsports.

I’m very happy that Graceway Pharmaceuticals have come onboard and helped us get through the end
of the year, but the Gods honest truth about next year, I have no clue. Last year, two years ago, I probably would’ve felt
like a little bit of an outcast and felt like the minority going to Homestead next week and not having any idea what I’m
doing next year but for whatever the case may be whether it’s the economy, whether it’s just people not sure of what’s
going on, I really feel like the majority. It seems like half of the garage in all three series are really unsure on their 2010
plans. There’s a lot of uncertainty going into next year and I just seem to be a part of that.”

Mike Skinner

MIKE SKINNER, No. 5 Exide Batteries Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports

Finishing Position: 6th

Were you not feeling well during tonight’s race at Phoenix?

“I got the creeping crud. It started a couple of days ago and my doctor has got me on all kinds of antibiotics and Prednisone
and everything else to try to keep me alive so I could run this race. Our Exide Tundra was awfully, awfully loose. I don’t
know what happened to the truck I had yesterday. After the race, Eric (Phillips, crew chief) told me he freed it up this
morning and didn’t tell me about it. We need to communicate a little better on stuff like that. Once he got it tightened back
up, I wish I could have started the race like I ended the race because I think we probably could have gotten a few more
spots.”

Did being sick tonight make this a difficult race?

“Yeah, any time you’re sick, your focus is off and your reactions are off. I was burning up hot one second and freezing cold
the next. My nose is running all down my mouth – it’s just not pretty when you’re sick. That’s why drivers make more
than mechanics because we have to be able to do that and we have to play hurt sometimes.”

MIKE BLISS, No. 25 Harris Trucking Toyota Tundra, HT Motorsports

Finishing Position: 7th

How was your race?

“It was alright, it was kind of uneventful. We took four (tires) at first and then we took two at the end. We were kind of
just sliding around at the end, but this place is always like that the last 50 laps. It never goes that long. We kind of counted
on that. It was a good run. I’m really happy I got to run this Toyota Tundra and it was a good solid run for us.”

David Starr

DAVID STARR, No. 24 Zachry Toyota Tundra, HT Motorsports

Finishing Position: 9th

Are you disappointed with your finish tonight?

“I am. We keep working hard. We didn’t have the best truck tonight. Our Zachry Toyota Tundra was just okay. We got it
better towards that second practice yesterday. Jason Miller, our crew chief, found something. It just wasn’t where it needed
to be. We had some great pit stop strategy and with a lot of heart and hard work, we never gave up. We came out with a
decent finish. Top-10s is a good thing, but we shoot for a lot better than that.”

What do you think about both HT Motorsports Tundras being in the top 10?

“That’s a good thing. That’s what we shoot for, we want both trucks in the top five and top 10. It was good to see us both
right there close to each other. We just needed to be a little bit further up the pecking charts. Not bad for a seventh and
ninth but we’re definitely working harder to get closer to that number one spot. With the way our truck was handling and
everything we had to fight against, it was almost like a win for us. You never get enough until you win these races, so we’ll
just keep striving and working hard to do that and that’s what we’re going to keep doing.”

The 21-year-old currently stands only 39 points out of the top-five in NCWTS points and needs a boost to propel him and his Xpress Motorsports team back into the upper echelon of the standings. Phoenix may be just the tonic the driver of the No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra is looking for. Last year in this event Scott scored his first ever NCWTS top-five and was a factor throughout the race.

“Phoenix was an exciting race in 2008,” Scott said. “We ran up front battling for the top spot and we ran second for the longest time. It got interesting right at the start. I think Ron Hornaday Jr. and Kyle Busch got together coming off of turn four on the first lap and we narrowly missed that. Phoenix proved to be a big shakeup in the championship points standings because both Hornaday and Benson had their problems. We were able to run good and take advantage of other teams’ misfortune. We ran up front and stayed out of the wrecks and ended up getting a top-five finish out of it. It was my first top-five in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and it was the first top-five I had with Jeff Hensley.”

For Hensley Scott’s performance was an eye opener. He quickly realized his young driver had talents theretofore unseen. It proved to be a catalyst for a 2009 season that has generated one win at Dover, 7 top-five finishes and 13 top-10 finishes in 23 starts.

“Phoenix last year was an important race for us,” Hensley said. “It was pretty cool to go there and run as well as we did. We didn’t run that well in practice but we kept working at it and kept working at it and got the truck to where it was really good. We qualified well and in the race we ran second for a good portion of the race. We made one small adjustment and got too free and ended up fourth. That was our first top-five and it really started the momentum rolling for us. We ended up getting a second place finish at Homestead the next week and I think those two races at the end of 2008 helped set the stage for the success we have had in 2009.”

Certain types of venues suit certain types of drivers and that is certainly the case for Scott. Phoenix is a type of track that has produced good results for Boise, ID native.

Brian Scott

“It seems like virtually any flat track works really well for me,” Scott noted. “Whether it is Kansas or Kentucky, both one and a half mile tracks but relatively flat, or the flat one mile tracks like Gateway, Loudon or Phoenix — for some reason they just seem to fit my driving style. Phoenix is a great track, a really good flat competitive short track. One of the biggest challenges Phoenix presents is track position. You can definitely pass there but it is not necessarily a track where you can go all the way from the back to the front on a regular basis so it is going to be important to qualify up front, stay up front and have good pit strategy. Fuel mileage and tire management come into play so you have to have the right game plan there. Like any short track you have to stay out of trouble, and not be a victim or get caught up in something of your own doing. I am excited to go back to Phoenix knowing that we ran there so well last year and I am looking forward to both of these last two events because we run well at both places and we should have pretty good trucks for both events.”

Phoenix actually suits Hensley well as well. The NASCAR veteran from Horsepasture, VA is competent and comfortable on the one mile tri-oval race track located in Avondale, Arizona.

“I like Phoenix because it has always been a good track for me personally,” Hensley adds. “I have never won there but we always seem to run well there. You have to be able to get the truck to turn well and be able to get back in the gas and keep your momentum up. Phoenix changes a whole lot from the conditions during the day to the conditions at nighttime. We practice during the day and we race at night. You have to know what to do to the truck to adjust for the huge swings in track conditions between the two scenarios. You have to know where you need to be chassis wise so that you can run well at night.”

The Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway is slated for Friday November 13th and will be telecast live on SPEED at 8:00pm ET. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.

Chassis for Phoenix International Raceway: Xpress Motorsports will bring chassis number 134 to the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. This Triad Racing Technologies chassis finished third at Milwaukee earlier in the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.

Scott took advantage of a very strong No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra and drove his way from his 15th starting position all the way up to the fourth spot heading into the last round of pit stops. Scott looked to be ready to race for the win until a lap 91 altercation with a lapped truck on pit road cost the Idaho native eight positions and eliminated any chance for a top-five finish. Scott and his Xpress Motorsports teammates maintained their spot in the NCWTS points chase now standing in the sixth position only 39 points out of the top-five.

“We had a really good Albertsons Toyota Tundra all night,” Scott said in the garage area after the event.” I had to fight for track position at the drop of the green. We didn’t have a perfect truck at the very start of the race. My crew chief Jeff Hensley and everybody on the Xpress Motorsports crew made all the right adjustments and in that next run, man we were hauling. We were fast. After we got tires the next caution after that, we were flying. I think we were fast as any truck out there. We drove out to fourth. We had a great four tire pit stop. Came back in and pulled out of the pits after our gas stop and a lapped down truck pinned us in the pits and we gave away all the track position. It is disappointing because we had such a good truck and I think we might have had something there for them at the end.”

Scott qualified his Albertsons Toyota Tundra in the 15th starting position touring Texas Motor Speedway’s 1.5 mile oval in 30.613 seconds which translates into a speed of 176.396 mph. When the event’s first caution flag fell on lap 17, Scott came down pit road for fuel only and exited pit road in the 8th position. Scott maintained his standing in the top 10 over the next 40 laps. He pitted under caution for fresh Goodyear tires on lap 57 and for additional Sunoco fuel and a series of chassis adjustments on lap 58, that placed him 11th on the ensuing restart. At that point Scott’s Toyota came to life and he quickly picked his way through the pack moving into the top 10 within a few laps and then all the way to the top-five by lap 75.

He moved into fourth with a pass on Mike Skinner on lap 78 and was closing on third when the race’s last caution flag fell on lap 88 for Mario Gosselin’s spin off of turn four. Scott once again ducked down pit road for tires on lap 90 and for fuel on lap 91. As he exited his pit after the fuel stop Scott nearly collided with the lapped truck driven by Tim Andrews who was just reaching pit road. Scott was pinned behind Andrews and the delay cost him at least eight positions exiting pit road, that placed him 11th on the final restart. Over the last green flag run Scott picked off four positions but was unable to make up the lost track position and finished in the 7th spot. It was Scott’s 13th top-10 finish of the 2009 NCWTS season.

“We had a legitimate shot to win this race,” Hensley said to his crew after the race. “Brian drove a heck of a race and our Toyota Tundra was really fast, especially after we were able to get in cleaner air. The guys on this Xpress Motorsports team did a whale of a job on pit road and put us in position to capitalize. Unfortunately that deal on pit road with the No. 36 truck really hurt us.”

Brian Scott

“I can’t say enough about the job all these guys on this Xpress team did tonight,” Scott said. “I am proud of every single one of them. We had a good truck, a really good truck after we made some adjustments. I just can’t wait to get to Phoenix. We had a great run there last year and if we can continue to get good trucks then we can make some noise over the last two weeks of the season.”

Kyle Busch won the Winstar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway. It was Busch’s fifth consecutive NCWTS win in races he has entered in the Billy Ballew Motorsports No. 51. Busch was joined in the top-five by Matt Crafton, Ron Hornaday Jr., Todd Bodine and Colin Braun. The next race for the NCWTS is the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. The event is slated for Friday November 13th and will be telecast live on SPEED at 8:00pm ET. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Texas Motor Speedway – November 6, 2009

- Kyle Busch won Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Busch led 54 of 147 laps at the one-and-a-half-mile oval en route to victory lane.

- This win was Busch’s fifth consecutive win in as many starts behind the wheel of the Billy Ballew Motorsports No.
51 Miccosukee Resort Tundra, and his 10th triumph in a Tundra over the past two seasons.

- It was the 14th win for a Tundra driver this year — the most NCWTS wins for Toyota in the series in a single season.
Todd Bodine (fourth), Brian Scott (seventh), Mike Skinner (eighth) and Texas-native David Starr (ninth) also had
top-10 finishes for Toyota.

- Tundra drivers Aric Almirola (14th), Tayler Malsam (18th), Timothy Peters (19th), Stacy Compton (22nd), T.J. Bell
(23rd) and Terry Cook (24th) were also in the field.

- Five Tundra drivers are among the top-10 in the unofficial NCWTS point standings — Skinner (third), Bodine
(fourth), Scott (sixth), Peters (eighth) and Starr (ninth) – with two races remaining in the 2009 season.

Finishing Position: 1st

How do you feel about how tonight’s race worked out?

“That’s cool man. What a Tundra tonight, man. This Miccosukee / Graceway Pharmaceuticals Tundra was awesome and
Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and these guys have really done their homework lately. It’s an accomplishment to beat the 33
(Ron Hornaday, Jr.) bunch here, that’s for sure. We got it done today. You know, it was a lot of fun. The 88 (Matt
Crafton) — man, I hate seeing the 88 finish second. I really wish he could get a win. I thank the fans for coming out
tonight. It was a great race. Thank NOS Energy Drink and all these guys on this pit crew — Billy Ballew Motorsports. I’m
pretty proud accomplishment to be here — five in a row. That’s pretty sweet. Undefeated back with Richie (Wauters, crew
chief) — that’s what’s even more fun.”

What are your chances of winning all three races this weekend?

“I hope I didn’t screw it up for tomorrow. I’ve never won here in a truck, but I won the Nationwide races here in the past
three times. So, looking to try to get the Nationwide win tomorrow. Dave (Rogers, crew chief) and all the guys on the
M&M’s Camry will be working hard tomorrow during ‘Happy Hour.’ Try to get us something capable enough of running
up front on Sunday. We’ll see what we can get. It would be pretty awesome to get them all three done here at Texas. I
wanted to win a truck race here for a long time — so this is pretty cool. As soon as I get a Cup win — another one we can
notch off the list.”

Did you have it when you needed it at the end?

“Yeah, we did. We made some good changes on this Miccousukee Tundra today and really brought the thing to life. I’m
really proud of Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and all these guys. This is an awesome race truck. This is the same one
(truck) we won with at Chicago. We’ve got a match to number 11 (chassis). This is (number) 32 here, 11 was always our
chassis that kicked butt, so now we found another one. All these guys, they do a great job.”

Are your trucks good every time you come to the track?

“For sure. You know, I really look forward to working with these guys and Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and everybody
that works so hard on this truck. We’ve got a lot of guys that probably don’t make a whole lot of money, but they dig in
real deep and they don’t quit. They don’t go home at five – they stay late. That’s what it takes in this sport. The dedication
and the people to make it happen. These guys here, they’ve been dedicated. They really work their butts off — it’s starting
to prevail for them. We’ve got five in a row now with myself and it’s a total of seven wins for Billy (Ballew, team owner).”

Did you run the truck pretty hard at the end and wear down the right front tire?

“Yeah, I did. I was trying to stay away from the 88 (Matt Crafton) catching me — I was trying to stay away from him. He
was running me down. He had a great truck. I hat seeing Matt (Crafton) finish second. He needs a win in this deal and
especially to me. We’re pretty good friends. I wish I could pull over and give it to him, but that wouldn’t be racing. Again,
I had to run hard and I ended up pushing the right front tire off for a little bit too much, probably. It lasted just enough,
man. Those lapped trucks that I had to get by in the last 10, 12, 15 laps, whatever it was – really hurt our performance of
the truck and so we were fairly able to hold off the 88 (Matt Crafton) – which is cool.”

Are the Toyotas getting better gas mileage than the other trucks?

“Chevrolet and Ford lobbied for Toyota to get a smaller plate and it helped our fuel mileage. So, thanks guys. That’s all
the difference right there. Those guys have a bigger spacer-plate, we have tapered spacers and they have a bigger one so it
allows more air to pass through. When you allow more air to pass through, it takes more fuel to keep the engine running
right. Those guys have worse fuel mileage than we do. The Toyota Tundras though, the guys in the engine shop at Triad,
they’ve been working real hard to get us more horsepower and at the same time use less fuel to get better fuel mileage.
Every engine builder does that, but our guys have made some gains this year in that area. All you can do is get it from the
crew chief. If you’re short, you may have to conserve, but if you’re good to go, then you just go. The Toyotas seem to get
about — in a full fuel run — we seem to get three to five laps more than those guys. It’s not significant, but it’s enough
where sometimes it can make the difference.”

RICHIE WAUTERS, crew chief, No. 51 Miccosukee Resort Toyota Tundra, Billy Ballew Motorsports

What was your role in tonight’s win?

“When we started out tonight, we weren’t the best truck out there. We had problems, we were a little bit tight and a little bit
free at the same time. We made a few adjustments and it helped it. The last stop we made another adjustment and it was
the best the truck was all night. Of course, with Kyle (Busch) driving, he’s worth something there, too. We’ve been
working hard and the Toyota Tundra was the best it was all night long at the end.”

How was your race tonight?

“It was a good run. We were free in practice and we thought we had adjusted it and got it better. It was just too free all
through the race. We kept adjusting it until it was as good as it was going to get. Our Copart Tundra was just too free. I got
behind Ron (Hornaday, Jr) and started racing him and got aero-tight and chassis-loose and it was a handful to hang onto. To
come home fourth, it’s not a win. It’s not a third or second, it’s a little disappointing.”

Are you disappointed with this finish?

“We were just too free. The way the rules package is, these Tundras they keep them from running with the other guys so we
have to trim them out and really be free. We stepped over the edge and had it too free. Kyle (Busch) again hit it right on the
money to get it right on without it being loose. It was still a good run. The Copart Tundra was fast. I’m disappointed, we
wanted to get another win at Texas, but fourth is good. The way the middle part of the season was going, I think it we had
five or six top-10s in a row, so I think we’re back in form. We’re doing things right. It’s about all you can do.”

How was your truck tonight?

“We had a really good Albertsons Toyota Tundra all night. I had to fight track position at the drop of the green — didn’t
have a perfect truck. Jeff Hensley (crew chief) and everybody on the Xpress crew, they made the right adjustments and in
the second run, man we were hauling. We were fast. I think, actually it wasn’t the second run because the first pit stop we
took gas only. After we got tires the next caution after that, we were flying. I think we were fast as any truck out there. We
drove out to fourth. We had a great four tire pit stop. Came back in and pulled out of the gas and a lapped down truck
pinned us in the pits and we gave away all the track position.”

Finishing Position: 9th

Are you happy with another top 10 finish?

“It was another top-10. Our Zachry Toyota Tundra was pretty awesome tonight. The team did a great job because our truck
wasn’t very good at the start of the race. We fought a lot of issues until about three-quarters of the way through the race.
Jason Miller, the crew chief, and all the guys on our Zachry team did an excellent job. They finally got it fixed and we
came alive right there at the end. It was a little too late, but we were battling trying to catch up.

We needed another caution to put us in the show. From what we started with to how it ended up, we’re pretty proud and that says a lot about this racing team. It takes the force that we never give up and when our back is up against the wall, we just keep digging. It was pretty good. Not what we wanted, but a top -10 finish and we’ll hold up our head high and leave knowing we gave it everything we got. We just got beat by better trucks tonight and we’ll go win at Phoenix next week.”
