Toyota NASCAR Tidbits – April 21 – 27, 2014

Toyota Racing Logo TOYOTA TITLES:  The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) and NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) races at Richmond International Raceway mark the second consecutive season of title sponsorship by Toyota at the three-quarter-mile Virginia track. Friday night’s NNS race will again carry the name  Toyota Care 250.  Saturday night’s NSCS race will also continue as the Toyota Owners 400.  Toyota also serves as the co-sponsor of the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at California’s Sonoma Raceway.  CAMRYS CLAIM CHECKERS: Camry drivers have captured 64 wins on 22 different tracks since joining NSCS competition in 2007, and Toyota drivers have most frequently visited victory lane at Richmond International Raceway -- where they have claimed seven first-place trophies.  Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) drivers Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin have combined for six victories at Richmond from 2009 through the 2012 ... But it's apparent that the former NASCAR Sprint Cup champion is as comfortable with a microphone in his hand as a steering wheel. Staying classy throughout a guest appearance at the Newseum on Pennsylvania Avenue, Kenseth did more than sign autographs and take photos with fans within eyeshot of the Capital dome.
