Mixed Results For John Wes Townley At Atlanta Motor Speedway

(Mar. 1, 2015) – John Wes Townley shined during qualifying at his home track on Saturday morning by nailing down the 13th starting position for the NASCAR Xfinity Series event and a top-five starting spot for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series 200-miler at Atlanta Motor Speedway. But the afternoon doubleheader brought a mixed bag of results for the 25-year-old who resides in Watkinsville, Ga. Townley’s No. 25 Zaxby’s Chevrolet Camaro brushed the Turn 2 outside wall during the early laps of the Xfinity race after it unexpectedly shot up the racing surface. “It just got free. (Feb. 28, 2015) – Matt Crafton overtook Daniel Suarez on the 59th lap of the Hyundai Construction Equipment 200 and never looked back. Crafton, last year's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion, cruised the final 71 laps to claim his sixth career victory. Crafton was one of five different leaders in the 130-lap race and pulled away from the field down the stretch in a 74-lap green-flag run, the longest stretch in a Camping World Truck Series race at Atlanta, to finish off the win.
